hi there.
I entered the fandom on sir Paul's 80th birthday(which makes me a rather new guy) and because I was busy with my schoolwork (I'm a eighth grader busy with all that maths and physics stuff ) so I never had a time to post a self introduction thread although I joined maccaboard in October. The first song that I heard from Sir Paul was Hey Jude, but it was blackbird that made me a fan. And because I lives in China and was born in the 2010s, nearly nobody around me had heard of the beatles. So I decided to join this forum in order to find friends or something and practise my English.
Anyway here's the self introduction. Thank you for reading.
If there's any errors on spelling and grammar, please remind me because I'm just some foreign guy trying to communicate with my second language.
(P.S. My favourite song in Sir Paul's solo career is probably Jenny Wren and Who Cares. And of course, My Valentine is great too.)

@layla-love Welcome! You said you are the “new guy” but are you a guy or a girl? Your name layla-love suggests a girl and everyone will call you layla for short! By the way, I LOVE the fast version of that Eric Clapton song (written for George’s wife, Pattie Harrison, who he fell in love with and they later married)
Your English is pretty good. I see you deleted 2 posts. You don’t have to start over, just click on the 3 dots to the bottom right of your post (after you submit it) select EDIT and you can edit it as much as you want, and even come back much later and edit it. -
@layla-love Also, I notice you spell and write like a British person would (in U.S. we just say Math, not Maths, and you spelled practice “practise” like Brits would.) That’s fine though!
The only tiny mistake you made is you should have said you were “an” eighth grader, not “a” eighth grader. I was your age in 1968 when I first heard Hey Jude! Technically you’re young enough (or I’m old enough!) to be your grandmother! -
@Layla-love Hi,
It's nice to have people my age on the forum. Ah what I understand you seem to be quite young. I arrived in 2020 and I felt a bit lonely. Hey I'm kidding. -

I was 13 and then 14 in 8th grade, but they said they were born in the 2010s, so maybe skipped a grade? (2022 minus 2010 = 12!) You are the closest in age to Layla and still what, almost 10 years older?
-
@njr I was born in 2009 but I just rounded it up to 2010.

That makes sense now. Unless your birthday is Jan. 1-14, you are 13. Like I said, I was 13 and turned 14 in the spring when I was in 8th grade. (started Kindergarten at age 5)
When I was your age (going on 14) the Beatles were recording the White Album, then Linda came to live with Paul and eventually brought Heather over. They got married 2 months before my 14th birthday. I remember those days with great fondness!
You never said if you are a girl or boy. -

I have a pair of X chromosomes. -

@NJR I have less than ten years of difference with @Layla-love. But we are still in the same generation.

What do you mean by generation Z?That’s what they call the kids in your age group. Like my kids who are 36 are Millennials (1981-1996) and I am a Baby Boomer (those born between 1946 and 1964) Generation X were born between 1965 and 1980. Generation Z were born between 1997 and 2012.

@NJR Okay, I understand better. I just don't know what this Z refers to. Maybe just a random letter? I don't know.

Surprised you’ve never heard of this. Generation Y are also known as Millennials, born between 1982 and 1994. (according to this article)

I don’t know who came up with all this - Google it.
