Gone Troppo and Dark Horse tie for his worst album for me. Both have a "couldn't care less" vibe about them that afflicted the quality of the releases.

      Hear, hear. Exactly my thoughts.

I can enjoy them as a fan, but they're at the bottom for me, too.

Of course I have them, I listen to them every once in a while and I can enjoy them being a hardcore fan. But that doesn't make them good albums!

I love Joe Brown's version of "That's The Way It Goes" on "Concert for George". It's a much more lively take on it and I realised what a good song it actually is. I don't think it's necessarily anything wrong with much of the material on "Gone Troppo" but the title and 'gone to lunch' sticker on the cover says a lot. Over to Ringo Starr: I'm looking forward to "Postcards From Paradise". I don't listen to his studio albums as often as McCartney perhaps but I find them enjoyable whenever I'm in a Ringo mood.

That doesn't auger well, the title song being absolute dross. Gee...a bad week for Paul and Ringo.

A bad week? Really? How so? Explain.....

The new song Postcards From Paradise is pretty bad by any standards. A hodge Podge of Beatles song titles with a simple 3 chord structure. Could have been done by a 10 year old. My hopes for the album have gone down the drain.

Have you actually heard it? I haven't seen a link anywhere on the net.

Paul's abysmal SNL performance and the preview of Ringo's equally abysmal song from his forthcoming album. The sky ain't falling but for life long Beatles fans it's fair to say they didn't "pass the audition."

For Christsake...the sky isn't falling and 'they passed the audition' since '63. Let's see the forest through the trees; Paul's still playing 37 songs each concert in the same key with a relatively consistent voice and Ringo's album has yet to be heard in full. A Ringo album will be a Ringo album as it has been since his return modern album run in 1992.

I listened to the song twice. I don't find it "abysmal". Is it a classic? No. But does it have a certain charm?....you bet it does. And the chorus is quite catchy, too. I like it. It has a smooth hypnotic hook. It is a tribute to those glorious songs of yesteryear. Think about it, only one person in the entire world played drums on those great Beatle songs. For him, those songs and all the great memories that go along with them are his Postcards From Paradise. Just imagine what that must have been like for Ringo to sit at his drum set in the same room with the other three Beatles. To share the stage with his mates. To watch John and Paul and George create these amazing melodies and timeless riffs and moments of pure magic, songs that will live on for centuries to come. Songs that captivated an entire generation both then and now. These are songs that changed the world. No other drummer experienced that, except for Ringo. Postcards from Paradise indeed. I am cool with it!

The song is crap, a 5 year old could have written it. Hope the rest of the album is better.
