Hi LadyLeslie! I always knew that you write another thread on the famous Kansas City 17 September 1964 show that The Beatles would add later to the 64 tour courtesy of the late Charles Finley. I could tell that the whole story was never told, especially by Mr. Finley. If anyone wants to know the real truth behind the Kansas City show held on 17 September 1964, purchase the BEATLES '64: GOIN' TO KANSAS CITY CD book! In this set, you will receive a CD with a 31 page book telling the complete story of how Charles Finley brought The Beatles to Kansas City, the arguments between Charles Finley and John Lennon as well as the concert itself! Believe me when I tell you that this story is the true stuff of legend. I believe I quoted a lot of pages word for word from the 31 page book on the other Kansas City thread that LadyLeslie started here on the forum a while back. Please try finding it, it is very interesting.

Hi there jl4761! 2: good to see you! How are you? Thanks for your post, and for bumping up the Beatles in KC thread Always enjoy talking with you about their 1964 KC visit I still need to get the book and CD you mentioned! I have mixed feelings about Finley, and don't know what to think of him... sometimes he doesn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer (to put it bluntly :lol and appeared rather desperate in his attempts to snag the Beatles for an appearance... but I'm sure they wouldn't have been able to refuse his offer of $150,000... Somehow I get the feeling he was a source of amusement to the Beatles, because of his desperation, it's difficult to put into words.... I feel his motivation to get them to KC was that he was desperate to save his professional baseball team, the KC Athletics, which was losing a lot of games and suffering from poor ticket sales. Still don't understand his reasoning though, about how the Beatles in KC would help him out....,

And just think LadyLeslie, all of The Beatles KC 64 began with Finley's daughter wanting to see The Beatles but weren't coming to KC!

For the money Finley spent, Finley's daughter should have hung out with all four of them for a day!

You figured that if she did get some photos with the band, they would have been posted on the internet such as Facebook by now.
