sort of a randomly broad thread, wouldn't you say? I remember John in almost every thread I create on this board. But sure, I will take this opportunity to remember. always,

Never forgetton. What I love about John was his honesty. He was just as flawed as the next human being, but also had such great qualities about himself as well, and would have been the first to admit this. I find a lot of his songs touch me at the gut level. His words resonate a lot to me, they have a way of getting into you. A lot of his music has helped me through some rather dark periods in my life (Plastic ono Album is one of the fnest albums ever made for various reasons) and it really is comforting to me. Great man and one of my biggest idols (I have grown more "connected" to Macca in the last few years- partially as seeing him live an knowing more of his solo catalogue). Even though I am not particulary found of the hard left agenda of his political years 71-72, I appreciate that he sung and spoke about subjects that he cared deeply about.

Of all four Beatles, John is the one I'd like to think I'm the most like. However, I admire Paul much, much more as the quintessential artist/musician. But John's personality is more me.

One of the many traits I always admired about JOhn was he was always striving either to make himself a better person or the world a better place, even if I didn't always agree with what he defined as better. That is reflected not only in his numerous political causes but all the far out therepies he tried in correcting his personal flaws as well as even practicing meditation and the stuff he did with his diet along with Yoko (and somewhat with Cyn) if often glossed and overlooked but very important and fascinating too. (things like the raw milk and fertile eggs as well as macrobiotics and such). sometimes things didn't work out but he still kept on working to improve himself in all different ways. Even as a house husband, he was still working on developing a different set of skills.

"I don't like you" "I'll get over it"
