Well, regardless of which way the cookie crumbles, I gotta say that "Woman" is one of my all-time favourite John songs.... Actually it goes beyond that.... it's one of my favourite songs. Of anyone. I just adore it.

I like this song a lot better than "Girl", that's for sure. Surely one of John's best! But I think all his songs on Double Fantasy are amazing. Milk and Honey has some great stuff too.
Oh, if only he were still here.

Yep, if only, indeed... And I love John's stuff on Double Fantasy.... Well, I do wish it was called Single Fantasy, but all of John's songs are first-rate on that album.

I agree. Julia. Let it Be, for me, is a better song, and one of my favourite Beatles tracks, but for the sentiment and the pain being conveyed, and the subject matter on hand, Julia.
John could be haunting when he was so raw.

A couple other Paul tributes to his mum: 1). Momma Miss America 6). Daytime Nightime Suffering Paul missed him mom a lot.
These 2 are about Linda, not his mum. (If an instrumental can be about anyone that is!!!)
