Remembering George

Sure Claudia, I've heard it all before.
Of course, I am impartial when it comes to their looks and all, but I have heard many comments over the years from as many ladies, as to who they felt was the best looking Beatle. 
Amazing that George appeared just a few weeks after The Smo Bros aired the videos of "Hey Jude" and "Revolution." I remember like it was yesterday, watching on our old black and white tv set, The Beatles singing those songs. Back then, it was if you'd miss it, tough beans. Because there weren't no home vcr's then. 
Yes, nellie apple posted a nice photo of George and I thank her for the link to George's official website as I completely forgot to do that earlier. -
I remember the day he died. I actually received calls of condolence, and my dad even gave me permission to stay home from school. My luck, it was a P.A. Day, and there for wasn't going to school in the first place. I actually don't remember crying at the time. Of course there was sadness, but I didn't cry. Mind you, I can't count how many times I've cried in the past month, and in the last few weeks, I've turned back to the Beatles to restore some faith, and it's worked somewhat. When I remembered George this weekend, I still cried, but a lot of it was due to my happiness when I listen to Beatles music. I truly miss him and his beautiful soul.

A very sad anniversary, with another one approaching in a week. I marked the anniversary by listening to Brainwashed, a fabulous CD!! Thank you for all the great music George!! I will miss you always!!

Happened to tune in to Breakfast With The Beatles yesterday as I was driving up to L.A., and it was all Harrisongs, dedicated to George. And yes, I too was shocked when they said it was seven years since he left the material world.

You know, he was quite handsome??? I was probably so smitten with Paul.....I couldn't see the forest for the trees 
nellie apple: that's an incredibly handsome shot of George....probably the best I've ever seen. Funny, I use to go out with a guy that looked just like him in that picture. Check out that gold hoop earring in his right ear....pretty cool huh? I remember a scene in Help, when they are sitting at the bar and George says something like he is noticing girls winking at him more, and then he turns to Paul and says, it used to be you didn't it. He did get more handsome as he aged.

I remember that scene from "Help" PHILLIP......very cute!! Wow, that was niiiiice song from George. Thanks for posting Lady Crisp, I hadn't heard that in years! So many beautiful tunes I have forgotten and many written by George that move me alot. I think our taste in music is like fine wine .....it gets better with age.

I actually got engaged on the 29th, and that kind of drowned out everything else. I'm ashamed to admit that I forgot all about this being that day but maybe it was best that way. It's hard to dwell on the sadness.

How's it going calicoskych2001? I hope all is well with you. Please bare with me, I just got home and am pretty drunk at the moment. Yes, it is now 8 years ago today that we lost George. I was in Sacramento, California at the time and my dear friend Brian Wilson was one of the last people that George would ever see alive while in L.A. George would pass away in L.A. I was so heartbroken when I heard the news. George was the youngest of all of THE BEATLES and yet, how could this happen? The world lost a great man and music lost one of its all-time greatest leaders. R.I.P. George Harrison, Born 24 February 1943, Died 29 November 2001 at age 58. Take care.

I'm thinking of George as well and, I must thank many of you on this site for turning me on to George's solo career. Somehow through the years, I missed alot of his music for whatever reasons, but hearing some of his great tunes posted on this forum has truly made me realize just how much I adore his music, and I so miss his presence in the world as well.
