I was 9 when Pepper was released, but can still remember how "relevant" it felt at the time to my older brother and threatened the "establishment." My question about this dreadful Cyrus thing is: How is this performance relevant to anybody, anywhere? What are we as a society gaining from it? Am I just showing my age and major Beatles bias, or am I really overlooking something? Is it more than a display of narcissism (and bad taste)?
