this Boy live
-
I've been watching some live concert footage. I'm very taken with this performance of This Boy at their first US concert. All around the same mic, but not in the usual order so really crammed in. Sweating. No technology like monitors to help. Lots of screaming, of course. Still very tight performance and nice harmonies

Here's another live performance of the song. John's voice cracks a bit.

thank you for sharing both of those clips, I haven't ever seen those two performances of it. I love the song This Boy, but my MOST favourite part is John's solo vocal in the middle. I love how he sings it/sound of his voice, but also how it is arranged, with the harmonies and music stopping so you can only hear his voice at the end of that part; it's perfection.

That first vid is awesome.

Audio only of The Beatles live on The Ed Sullivan Show in Miami. This Boy is 2nd:

Paul's mic wasn't loud enough during I Saw Her Standing There and it is odd to hear John's low harmony so prominent! That was 1964 technology folks!
