A message to the haters-- I know the mini stage causes a bit larger gap inbetween the stage and floor seats. But did you ever, for a minute, realise that it really helps out the people in the nosebleeds? You're not the only ones at the concert. You also weren't being advertised a certain gap. Shame on you if you hate it for this reason. It helps out everyone else and brings Paul closer to us in the nosebleeds. Not trying to fight but the comments became unbearable.

      7/15/11- Yankee Stadium
      6/8/13- Barclays Center
      7/5/14- Times Union Center
      8/7/16- MetLife Stadium
      9/15/17- Madison Square Garden

      Thank you Paul!

I sat in the nosebleeds for a few shows last year and I didn't feel an iota closer to the action. I think it's an unnecessary and quite silly apparatus. Wish he would do what Arcade Fire is doing in their tour and put in a backstage near the soundboard area. It was only for 3 songs, but it created good feelings, especially for the surprise element and the fact that the fans in the back really did get a chance to see some of them up close. But that rising stage just looks and feels silly.

I love the idea of a B-stage. U2 has done it. The Stones have done it. Awesome.

Last year Paul used a little rising stage during Blackbird and Here Today. Rose up during Blackbird and went back down at the end of Here Today. Some said the gap between front row and the stage was too big because of this. I was in row 7 last summer and the gap was not as big as some made it out to be.

I'm aware of that. This started last Spring, a year ago, it's a new year hence new year same argument.

I saw the Stones in Albuquerque in 1997 and they had a small stage near the sound board and it was great! They walked on a small bridge to the stage and did three or four songs, I was sitting in that area and it was like watching them in your back yard, but in front of 35,000 people and with a stadium sound system. It would be great if Paul and co. would do that, for an acoustic set! I believe the moving arm stage McCartney used in 1993 was much more effective in getting him closer to the audience than this current set up.

I remember the extended mechanical arm in '93.

Thx. So where is this "mini stage" supposed to be located at the Albany venue?

Paul doesn't have a mini-stage -- more like an extended platform at the center/front of his main-stage, and it raises several feet higher. To some, it's anti-climatic, because it doesn't add much thrill.

Thanks. My tickets are 4th row center. Is that extended platform something that get raised and lowered? Hopefully it's in the lower position during the show or I would imagine it would block some of the view of the main stage. Thanks for any additional info.

It won't block any of your view. last year it was only used for two songs and it's all the way down during the rest of the concert. I was 7th row center last July and I could see everything perfectly and I'm short.

Saw it from 6th row piano side and 4th row center and it's an incredible production that is a first in the world. IMO it makes a front row seat better because you aren't as close - ever sit front row at a movie theatre? You can't take it all in. If it was stupid, they wouldn't be doing it.
