London Calling by the Clash "Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust" Funny thing is I saw a documentary about them say in 2002 or 2003 on DVD. They seemed to be Beatles fans and I think a lot of punk artists might have been but couldn't mention it. You know, being an "uncool" thing to do in 1977.
I always thought that the Clash song line was meant as a dig at all the bands trying to imitate the Beatles sound. So, its actually a compliment to the Beatles. I also remember reading that 1 of the original Sex Pistols was a huge McCartney/Wings fan, but was told by Johnny Rotten to never publicly mention it
