According to IMDb In 1990, "Sesame Street" songwriter Christopher Cerf told radio interviewer Terry Gross that the show was once sued for 5.5 million dollars over the song "Letter B," a parody of The Beatles' song "Let It Be." The plaintiffs were not the Beatles (who by that time no longer owned the rights to their original song and who in fact wrote a affidavit in support of the parody) but Michael Jackson's music library, which had bought the Beatles catalog. The case was settled for $500.

Did this whole case come about because the cookie monster ate all of Michael's cookies?

Next thing you know there will be an investigation as to why MJ had a crush on Kermit!!!

In Michael Jackson's defense, the second allegation was wholly bogus. But I would've never let my kid spend the night with the guy (although the risk would've been minimal -- MJ didn't care too much for the black kids).

That explains why MJ was always trying to become white!!!

(All your unnecessary Michael bashing aside) This probably had more to do with the publishing company ATV/Northern Song's lawyers than Michael himself.

It's too easy to make fun of Michael Jackson. But obviously there was a problem with tickling Elmo too much.
