Very cool!
-
The record was 6000 people, but unfortunately they only got 2000 people.
Oh well, it was a great tribute to John.

Have had this link for quite some time. It is an excellent, thorough and short explanation of the subject... The Origin Of The Peace Symbol http://www.nonukesnorth.net/peacesymbol.shtml HAPPY 75th TO JOHN!!!
-
I love this! Such a great tribute to John!

Welcome dallas girl! It's rather cosmically curious that the Peace Symbol came into being in the same year that John and Paul met at Woolton Fair. It is also cosmically curious that The American Silver Peace Dollar was reminted for one year only in the year that The Beatles were introduced to the world through The Ed Sullivan Show. I think George was correct when he said that The Beatles were doing PR Work for Love, Life and Peace (God) The 1934 U.S. Peace Dollar

A Happy Birthday to Beloved John!
I can't believe he would be 75 years old. If he were alive, I am sure he would still be so very handsome. And Steve... 1934 Peace Dollar : 1+9+3+4= 17 = 1+7 = 8.
-
Johnny, we hardly knew ye ...
Better to celebrate he was here than to cry because he's gone. In a way, we knew him pretty well, he talked so much
Lennon sure had the gift of gab. I recently got the Playboy interviews he gave shortly before his demise, have had that book several times over the years. He talked and talked and talked. And managed to be very interesting, if not downright fascinating the entire time

I found it hard to believe that it was discontinued and then reminted years later in 1964 for one year...and then discontinued because of Nam. Beatles + Ed Sullivan (1964) = Introduction of Phenomenal Messengers Of PEACE To The People Of Earth

Supermarkets recently carried two different special issues devoted to John-- I felt sad to see them and thought "is this all its come to? His legacy and heritage and memory?" But that fleeting thought was bogus, he's been honored in various ways annually around this special time and some ways were very meaningful and worthwhile. And poignant. Bittersweet. We can place emphasis on the "sweet" and rejoice he was here. I read just yesterday Peter Noone planned to honor John, so it's interesting to see this today. Thanks for sharing it.

That was fantastic!! Thanks for posting.

This is the kind of thing that should be in the news before it happened. Imagine how many people would have shown up had they known about it.

I believe it was in the news prior to the event. How do you think they got 2000 people there on a weekday?
-
I never heard about it. It stands to reason that millions of others didn't either.
