not like it matters but Let Me Roll It is my fav. First thing i did when i seen the Osaka set list was look at the #5 position for Let Me Roll It and internal sighed a relief. But atlas we all have our favs that we cheer for and hope they are never taken away. domo arigato
I liked it too but I think it has been in setlist way too long but to each their own.
Many have been there WAAAY too long.
True but you and I know Beatle songs don't disappear easily - lol

I said it before and I´ll say it again The setlists send out a strong signal that Paul doesn`t believe in his musical output of the past 30-40 years. This is a viscious circle which leads to ever declining sales of his new material, because why should people be bothered to listen to it when Paul can`t be bothered to play it? Other big names like Dylan, Bowie and even the Rolling Stones haven`t stuck to the same classics tour after tour. 2/3 of Paul`s setlist is from the sixties. The remaining 4+ decades are squeezed into 1/3 . And on top of it almost half of the songs are the same tour after tour. How can someone who`s achieved so much be so insecure ? And why do all that promotion for new albums, when they are never heard of again. Isn`t there ONE good song on Flaming Pie, Driving Rain, Chaos, London Town, Venus and Mars, Speed of Sound, Back to the egg, Flowers, Off the ground, Ram, McCartney 2 Wild life Red Rose Press to Play Memory Pipes of peace ...to appear on the setlist ? For sure he can`t play songs from all his albums. But what does it say about Paul as an artist when the vast majority of his albums are simply ignored by himself ? If an alien from Mars followed Paul`s tours from 89 onwards, he`d come to the conclusion that this musician once belonged to a band called The Beatles and after that did Band On The Run PERIOD.

I could'nt argue it better!

WixRocks!:
I'm not really shocked by the drops...but I did expect at least one more songs that wasn't done at the promo gigs. It's sad that Paul has such little faith in his new music and maybe even less faith in his past post-beatle ventures. I don't think the "he's never played there" excuse is valid. He dropped three songs that were never played there for three that also haven't been played there. He clearly isn't as conscious as we like to think on the matter.
well said!

That alien would also be very pleased to hear Paul opening a concert with "Venus And Mars"!

Very simple answer, 90-95% of McCartney's concert audience does not give a darn about anthing he has done outside the Beatles with the possible exception of BOTR. I would also wager that BOTR is probably the last thing non-Beatle most of these people have bought.McCartney ignoringing the majority of his albums says that he is resigned to the fact that basically nobody in the crowd cares about any of his other music so let the good times roll and lets live in the past. McCartney playing four songs from "New" is just basically keeping him and his band from being bored by playing some music they have not played 100 times before - lol.

As long as Paul's ticket-prices remain as costly as they are, you can bank on a Beatles-heavy show.

Setlist 8 days a week save us all my loving listen to what the man said let me roll it paperback writer my Valentine 1985 the long and winding road maybe I'm amazed I've just seen your face we can work it out another day and I love her blackbird here today new queenie eye lady Madonna all together now lovely Rita everybody's out there Eleanor rigby benefit of Mr. K something obladi oblada band on the run back in USSR let it be live and let die hey Jude day tripper hi hi hi get back yesterday helter skelter golden slumber carry the weight the end
That is so SAD. When NEW came out Paul talked about learning the whole album with the band. Not that I expected him to perform all of it...but 4 tracks is the usual : yeah I have a new album out but It`s not a big hit. Like Driving Rain or Chaos and the respective tours. At least I expected him to do half of the songs as he did with FLOWERS and OFF THE GROUND, which are both weaker albums than NEW. Where is Alligator, Scared, Road??? And why can`t he skip Let it be, Hey Jude, Long and Winding, All my loving etc. It`s the usual Beatles revival band setlist.
Actually, wish he would have eliminated "Let Me Roll It" and "My Valentine" for anything else from "New like one of my favorites "I Can Bet". The usual excuse would be he has not been in Japan in over a decade and he would not want to disappoint the people who have never seen him do these Beatle songs. That being said, don't see many Beatle fans that would be upset if they did not hear "All Together Now" or "Benefit For Mr. Kite" - lol
All that matters is Hi Hi Hi stays in!!! And with the last three dates at Tokyo Dome, it's highly likely there will be a couple of ins and outs for those 3 nights.

Frankie, My soundcheck advice email lists the concert start as 7pm. Not sure if that is actually the case... R

'Junior's Farm' out, 'Save Us' in 'Your Mother Should Know' out, 'New' and 'Queenie Eye' in 'Mrs. Vandebilt' out, 'Everybody Out There' in ...'Your Mother Should Know' out. My lost dream that was 2013, haha...
Yeah...having seen JF and MRS live...I'd have loved to have seen Your Mother Should Know...at least once. But this is just a minor personal quibble... Not unhappy.
