Yay for you! 😉 I wish I could be there too, but I'm hoping for closer shows.

Thanks, me too, but realistically I don't think so.

That venue looks like it would be a great place to see Paul. I wonder if he will do a full set considering it's being promoted as a charity event and that he will play Lubbock the next day?

Wow. This may be the coolest gig on the tour.

What a cool concert and great for those that get to see it. I would expect this to be similar to his HS appearance last year. Clearly theye will be no big staging as it would be too small for that and the staging will be going up in Lubbock. i would expect just the instruments and amps. It will be interesting to see how long of concert he does with Lubbock the next night. I suspect this will rule out any other show after San Diego until Lubbock. RamblinRed

Very cool indeed. I'm happy for the lucky fans who will be there. Any idea of the ticket prices?

I got through but could not afford tickets they were $1, 000 up to $3500. I was willing to pay about $600.

Wow. How ironic. A cool, intimate gig, and it costs thousands to attend. I would not pay those prices. Makes me feel better! Ha ha!! Again, just like when he did the corporate gig in Vegas for people who didn't even care, why not do a gig September 30 in a town like Albuquerque or El Paso for REAL fans at a reasonable cost? I am still shaking my head at how this guy does things.

Is he going to ask people to rattle their jewelry?

Probably, since it was Lennon's line.

Those prices are high, but it's going to be quite an unusual concert. I suppose the $3,500 tickets are for the soundcheck package.

I saw Paul from the 11th row in Boulder in 1993 for $35. I'll hang on to that memory and skip this one.

doubtful they have a soundcheck package. I think those are just the prices...isn't it for charity or something?

Paul's ticket prices (this show aside) are actually quite reasonable for an artist of his stature. He only had the 10th most expensive average ticket last year, behind artists like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, One Direction (yep), Justin Timberlake and Maroon 5 (uh huh). He could easily charge more than he does.

I don't have an issue with the prices. It is a charity event, not a normal concert. It is a small facility with close seats, meaning higher prices. I also agree that I doubt there will be a soundcheck. I have always thought this would actually be a great idea for Macca. You could play a handful of intimate shows in small theaters around the big arena/stadium shows and make it known this will be a deep cuts concert. You could charge a significantly higher ticket price due to the small theater seating and it would really be for more of the hardcore fans. On the RMartinez front, you know what has to happen for a show to happen there. A promoter has to step up willing to pay the guarantee. If one does then it likely gets a show at some point, if not it doesn't. Here is an excellent article on the state of touring. It talks about the stratification of pricing due to album sales declining and acts needing to make that up in touring and ticket prices. Also mentions that despite there high price, VIP packages are selling very well for most acts, so if anything expect more of that in the future. http://www.omaha.com/go/vip-tickets-to-paul-mccartney-are-sky-high-but-fans/article_6904350d-47c5-57a1-8670-6b50a93d34ab.html RamblinRed
