I'm glad that Japan is going to release THE BEATLES' catalog in the SHM-CD's, I will buy them for sure. However, I truly wish that Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) would have released THE BEATLES' catalog on CD. THE BEATLES bootleg MFSL CD's sound FANTASTIC! I own all of the LED ZEPPELIN catalog on SHM CD's, they sound FANTASTIC!

Digital playback is digital playback. CD played with a laser beam. Just because it's on a higher quality material is not going to affect the sound quality. That all comes down to the digital master. This is just another excuse to make money. IMO.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT SIR! Garbage in-Garbage-out. You have to have a high definition player to actually hear a high definition cd. But in this case it's the type of material. The quality of the polymer is not going to really affect the sound quality. Durability wise - yes it may last longer.

When it comes to the SHM CD's, I'll say you're getting higher quality material. If you haven't heard THE BEATLES MFSL Vinyl releases on You Tube, listen to them! The bootleggers, especially in Russia, are transferring THE BEATLES Vinyl releases, using the needle drop technique with the ultimate turntable technology, and making new Digital master tapes and converting the new mixes onto factory pressed CD's! I PROMISE YOU, the sound quality sounds far more superior than anything that EMI/Capitol records has ever released except for later releases such as the LOVE and ONE albums. In my opinion, the 2009 Remasters sound quality (Stereo mixes) is SH*T! When the 2009 Remasters first came out, there were bad reviews everywhere! Read the 982 reviews, beginning with page 99 on Amazon, read it for yourself. Capitol/EMI will NEVER release the ultimate sound quality on THE BEATLES because Capitol/EMI is too busy milking THE BEATLES money wise! The 1987-88 releases were awful! In my opinion, the greatest sound quality of THE BEATLES is by MFSL! The reason why MFSL cannot acquire the original BEATLES master tapes from Capitol/EMI for future CD releases is because Capitol/EMI knows damn good and well that MFSL will give THE BEATLES the greatest treatment and praise possible that they truly deserve by releasing the ultimate sound quality which would result in Capitol/EMI in losing money.

By the time Capitol/EMI gets around to it, most of us will be half deaf anyway so it won't matter.

Vinyl yes, because it is a physical transfer of sound from the grooves in the vinyl through the needle (analog), so the quality of the vinyl does make a difference. That's why all these new reissues are on 180 gram virgin vinyl, which is what MFSL and the Japanese were using years ago. But with CDs, what matters is that the disc is digitally mastered correctly. MFSL CDs may be better mastered, that's debatable. Better material may mean the disk itself will last longer (though I have never known a CD to wear out), but it does not affect the sound quality.

Hi beatlesfanrandy! You have the right idea, I am also speaking in reference to THE BEATLES sound quality on Vinyl! But somebody, some say that Dr. Ebbetts and Dr. Robert are the same person that resides in Russia, transferred THE BEATLES 1982 MFSL Vinyl's onto new Digitally Remastered tapes! This process was definitely done professionally in a studio and released on factory pressed CD's (Not CD-R's) in Russia! Many of these collections made their way into the US, I know because I bought them! In my opinion, the best overall sound quality of THE BEATLES is sold underground. If you want me to go more into detail, please PM me. Take care.

Hi Nancy R! How are you? I'll go one better, by the time Capitol/EMI gets around to doing it right (That's if they do!), we'll all be dead!
