George's memorial tree in LA killed by beetles
-
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/posts/la-et-ms-george-harrison-tree-beetles-replant-20140721-story.html I do think George, with his wonderful sense of humor, would be very amused by this.
-
I laughed when I read the headline. We've had beetles kill a few of our trees. A few yaers ago it was the Asian long horned beetle...I called it the long haired beetle. This last year we had emerald ash borer...wonder if there is a borer group.

I could name a few who I thought were bores.

DARN THAT PETE BEST!
-
Bugs will be bugs and they don't care if the tree belongs to anyone.
-
Beware of darkness...and bea---I meant, beetles.

Funny how we think of trees as always going to outlive us. Many do, but many don't.

Irony at it's finest.

I just read the same while looking up the weather: http://www.weather.com/news/science/nature/beetle-beatle-george-harrison-tree-20140723 I thought I'd check first to see if someone else posted the news before doing the same ... and you did. I live on the east coast & never knew of this park in George's honor until tonight ...

Depends. He could alternate between being wonderfully wry and witty, and really cranky and bitter. I can either see him cracking a joke about it, or complaining bitterly that "even in death, "beetles" ruin things for me!"

Very ironic. Still I can picture him with a wry smile and wisecrack.

He'd probably also find a way to somehow blame it on McCartney
-
He'd probably take it all in good humour. Make some witty comment laced with black humour. I'm devastated about the tree though...
