"A is for Apple" book series
-
Well, this is very exciting news for Apple fans... There will be a book series (unofficial, of course) detailing the history and development of Apple Corps and all it's subsidiaries! The series seems to be similar to an Apple-focused equivalent to Lewisohn's "All Those Years" Beatles series, featuring unparalleled in-depth research of everything from original articles to interviews with former employees and artists. I'm guessing much if Apples fascinatingly obscure history will now surface and come to light, especially since nothing this thorough as been attempted before.
The first instillation of "A is for Apple" will be released in the spring of 2015 and be about 500 pages will a limited release of 500 copies (each with a mysterious "collectible surprise"). Here's the website for the book series: http://aisforapplebook.com/Home.html And here is an article detailing its release from Examiner: http://www.examiner.com/article/new-series-of-books-on-deep-history-of-beatles-apple-records-revealed Thoughts?

They're putting it out for pre-order and they don't have a price yet? That's unusual! And only 500 copies of each book? I guess they're being cautious about producing too much. I looked at one of the pages, which has one long rambling paragraph down two columns, but still it's fairly well-written and seems accurate, although it assumes you're already familiar with basic Beatles history. I certainly hope the book isn't white type on black paper, though, as the website shows! Could be interesting, though. It doesn't say exactly what years are covered by the four books, but I'm guessing it goes through 1975 and the original demise of the label.

Thanks for the link! I got my pre-order in! Should be an interesting book. I too have always been a fan of Apple Records--I used to collect them avidly!
