There's no shortage of people trying to pit them against each other. But at least now we know who Justin Bieber prefers.

Justin Bieber prefers himself, no doubt! I imagine at the end of the interview, his minders pulled aside the interviewer and castigated him for introducing into public consciousness that there was anyone more important than him.... the little shite....

Without Paul's hair, there would be no Justin Bieber.

With Paul's hair, Justin Bieber is going to be a hit in jail! Isn't Bieber facing jail time in another country?

It is actually an interesting little doco. I'm not sure it was trying to be divisive at all. It is quite the question for people who are in the field of artistry, who would be influenced by the greatest band that ever graced this universe. Or cosmos, if that is bigger. Hell, it's quite the question for many a Beatles fan. I watched most of it, but not all, as I was time-strapped and getting a headache looking down at the screen to see who was the interviewee.... 'cos a few of them I didn't know. Like watching/reading a foreign movie. So many did not want to make a choice. But when push came to shove they made one. Some real interesting views from some. And idiots like Johhny Rotten.... now, maybe I got it wrong, but I think he decreed "Lennon, but I've met "McCarthy", he seemed like a nice guy."... or along those lines. Idiot. Hard to tell if he was being a smart butt or still on the end of some bender. A handful elected to indicate neither. Very dismissive of both John and Paul/Paul and John. Even bigger idiots than Rotten/Lydon or whatever he is. Some were just disrespectful - to Paul, John and Ring0 - by nominating "Ringo". Thinking they were funny. For what it's worth, I would not be able to offer an answer. I love them 50/50. So, I'd be in the "Can't give an answer" camp.

Maybe, but if it was made I just think Paul would have been seen in a better light. I loved John, but because he was murdered at age 40 he was elevated even more in status. We will never know what he might have done (or not done) from 1981 until now.

Agreed. I think if the question was asked at the end of the 70's/dawn of the 80's - ten good years after the end of the Beatles - that Paul might've actually garnered the most votes.

Hi Nancy R! Happy Xmas! You do have a point Nancy R, John is bigger in death than when he was alive. Because of this, it also made THE BEATLES, including Paul, George and Ringo bigger! Like you said, we will never know what John might have or might have not done from 1981 up to now. That's why I feel that it is not fair to pit John and Paul up against each other, it doesn't make sense. Take care.

I agree with you toris, if that question would have been asked at the end of the 70's, ten years after the end of THE BEATLES, Paul would have won! However, please remember that John retired from the music world for 5 years from 1975 to 1980. Knowing this, I don't think that it would be fair to pit John and Paul against each other at any time after THE BEATLES. Take care.

And a very merry Xmas to you!.... Granted John was retired for the last half of the 70's, so I will defer the question to being asked at end of '75-76. In which case, Paul would've won hands down, I think. I would've been way too young at the time to cast judgement and be fully informed. Time and events have changed that. But again, that being said, I love them both. Can't split them. I like to think that this little "doco" is not pitting them against one another..... rather someone pondering, "Geez, these are the two most brilliant musicians/songwriters/personalities/inspirations that ever existed.... is it possible to part them?".... "they are so magnificent, is it possible to say one is better than the other?".... one response was that it was like trying to pick a favourite child or whether one preferred their Mum or Dad....I like to think it is a homage to them both. And asking a question that is almost impossible to answer.

EXACTLY toris! John and Paul were two of four elements that made one BEATLES into the all time greatest musical revolution that music ever produced! Who or what band has ever accomplished what THE BEATLES have accomplished in 8 years? Maybe some acts have caught up with THE BEATLES as years wore on such as PAUL, THE STONES, MICHAEL JACKSON, SLIM WHITMAN, MARIAH CAREY, LED ZEPPELIN and ELVIS PRESLEY (Even in death) but it took more years for them to do what THE BEATLES did in 8 years. For myself, personally, I agree with you, it is impossible to pick between John and Paul! It would be better to compare them while they were in THE BEATLES together. And even then, it is impossible. Take care.

I've been questioning that for years myself! Do you remember back in the 80's, there was an infomercial that showcased SLIM WHITMAN'S collection. The guy in the infomercial said that SLIM WHITMAN had more number one hits than ELVIS and THE BEATLES! However, I learned that it took SLIM more than 8 years to get the same combined number ones that THE BEATLES accomplished in 8 years.
