Either there was a much higher demand for the "Beatles In Mono" than I realized, or it doesn't take a whole lot to get on the Billboard charts these days. Probably both. Anyway, suddenly these Beatles titles are on the Billboard album chart this week: #108: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band #147: The Beatles (the White Album) #159: Revolver #166: The Beatles in Mono (vinyl boxed set) #176: Rubber Soul Pretty impressive, I'd say.

I was just reading that since the market is so song focused now that it doesn't take much to place on the album charts now. I think a #1 placement only moved 150,000 or something. I will have to see if I can find the article. But very cool anyhow!

            blue jay hey:

is thay for the mono vinyl releases?

Yes, that has to be it. None of those titles were there the week before. Occasionally, "Abbey Raod" pops into the chart, but it doesn't this time, I assume because it's not in the mono set (it was never mixed in mono). This makes me think maybe I should at least get "Sgt. Pepper," since I don't have a cut-out sheet that's intact, for one thing, and I don't have any of the vinyl albums in mono (I have the mono CD box).

It really shows that the Vinyl LP format is not dead, since none of these albums are on CD individually.

Pepper sounds like a completely new album in mono. Every Beatles fan should own a copy.

Listening to Pepper now. Certainly sounds different, but not quite satisfied that it's better than the stereo. I like it, but the stereo version sounds brighter and more expansive to me.
