          I watched that Tonight Show live in May 1968. I had just turned 13 on the 11th (the day they landed in NYC) I remember being so disappointed that Johnny Carson was not there!

                RIP Joe. But,what a wasted opportunity to interview the greatest composers of our time. At least give poor Joe a set of compelling questions to ask instead of the "free form interview" that emerged! Part of me is happy that the tapes did burn. I don't think either Paul or John were happy about the interview & they showed it during the actual show.
