Beatles opened their very first US tour at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA on Aug. 19, 1964. At the San Francisco Giants baseball game this evening, they keep playing Beatles music and showing Beatles pictures on the Jumbotron. (courtesy of texts sent to me from my daughter)

Yes! It's Beatles night at AT&T Park!
I have a friend that is there tonight as well.

The Cow Palace...
I was walking my 12 year old schoolmate girlfriend Dee Dee home about that time one night shortly after dark, after having seen them on Ed Sullivan earlier in the year. I pointed up at a crystal clear star filled sky and asked her to imagine our universe as a drop of water coming out of someone else's faucet on a much larger scale. She smiled...She thought it was cool! -
My first girlfriend was also named Dee Dee (we were 5). I don't have anything to add about the Cow Palace except that I think the Republicans nominated Goldwater there that same month. And I'm watching the Giants game right now.

Good to see you posting, Dave! Her name was short for Dorothy. My first memories of a girlfriend were at 8 or 9 and a girl named Ardi...My 2nd was a Native American Kansas Indian girl named Laura at the age of 10. She was sweet as pie.

Hi, Steven! Thanks for posting the concert clips. I don't think I had heard those before. Paul was recently asked about the whereabouts of Tony Barrow's Candlestick recording and he had no idea and said he had not heard it. Pity. Funny thing-- my wife's hospice nurse was also named Dee Dee.

Thanks for posting the clips, Steven. Still get a hot feeling remembering that my parents would not allow me to go even though my grandfather ("Nonno") lived just a few blocks away from the Cow Palace. I think the Beatles music being played last night at AT&T Park inspired the Giants to win!! My daughter said they kept showing clips of the Beatles on the Jumbotron, with closeups of Paul.
