http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3337924/The-dark-truth-Yoko-Ono-revealed-BBC-DJ-Andy-Peebles.html What is this all about? I don't understand why the DJ is speaking out now, regardless of the reason to rebroadcast in December.

      ...And The Beat(le) Goes On

Maybe he feels that it's time he spoke out? Maybe he said..Gimme Some Truth?

He was probably under some kind of contract with them & of course with Yoko (she needs to approve all).

Jeepers. For a kick off, many errors in this op-ed piece. I'm Losing You was written in a 2 hour frenzy? No. And on first meeting her he was thinking "this is the (busty) woman who broke up The Beatles." Again, no. But really, this reeks of Andy feeling hard done by, and making it about himself. Everyone's opinion is fine but when they go the press like this, they've lost me. I have time for Yoko so I'll spring to her defense sometimes. Sure she was hard, ruthless sometimes, and eccentric. But some of Peeble's ramblings just reek of cashing in knowing a decent old Yoko sledge will garner headlines. Sam Havadtoy was gay, wasn't he? And Andy, if you found Yoko's "happiness and sudden burst of creativity" distasteful you should have made that clear, and not gone to restaurants and holidays in Karuizawa with her, on her coin. Leech.

It's the DJ who sounds like an opportunistic jerk, not Yoko.

Correct. Long time since Peebles had any relevance or influence. Hell, if I had the chance to meet and hang with John and Yoko, I'd be thanking my lucky stars. Not dissing Yoko. Old and bitter. And thankless. Some "friend" he turned out to be.

?I got no real buzz from Yoko?s efforts to impress me, nor from the fact that she persistently stayed in touch. I knew it wouldn?t last, and it didn?t. The minute she heard that I?d left the BBC to go elsewhere, I never heard from her again.? ....and that was 13 years ago presumably, since he left the BBC in 2002. He must be getting hard up to feel the need to start griping about Yoko after all these years, especially to the Daily Mail, a dreadful publication at the best of times.

Was that a typo, because it's The Beeb. And to the other poster, I don't know about Sam Havadtoy, but that other guy associated with John & Yoko (what the heck is his name?) was definitely gay.
