They interviewed an author named Chuck Gunderson on Coast to Coast AM last night that has written a 2 volume book about the Beatles called, "Some Fun Tonight". He sounded pretty down to earth and objective. There was a lot of talk about Shea Stadium and their 50th anniversary performance. Very interesting interview for the most part. The average Beatles ticket price in and about that time was $4.50
I guess they really loved the sound system at the new Atlanta stadium after having played Shea Stadium.

Yeah, John specifically mentioned it in an interview. Brian Epstein tried to hire the sound guy in Atlanta to do all the Beatles' concerts, but the guy turned him down because he didn't think The Beatles were going to amount to anything!

The number of people who underestimated The Beatles is staggering.

I saw them on Jack Paar at home and then on Ed Sullivan as a youth with a school mate of mine at his house who later went on to be a locally profound pop rock musician. We also watched Hard Day's Night and Help! together at the local theater when they were released. Both of us knew that there was far more to the picture than met the eye!
