No. You don't speak for everyone here. Pretty arrogant of you to think you know better than Paul McCartney what he should and shouldn't do, where and what to play...over and over, thread after thread.

I am actually surprised at the attitudes of some people on this forum. Is this place only for folks who adore and worship McCartney and never, ever question anything he does? If it is, someone should put those words on the front page of this fan forum and I won't come here anymore. People who want Paul to do cool things and play their town ARE great fans!! A couple of years ago, Paul had about a week off between dates in Texas and California and I was hoping he might fit a concert date in Albuquerque or El Paso or something. Instead, he played a corporate event in Las Vegas to a bunch of suits who texted through his concert. That bothered me. Am I supposed to say that was the coolest thing he ever did or that he could have done? Why is it a downer to think maybe instead of this corporate event he could have done some surprise gigs in smaller places for less money? For REAL fans??? I am too old for fan worship and adoration. Maybe some of you aren't. And I am sorry some of us aren't just glowing over everything Beatle Paul does, no matter what it is. Of course, he can do whatever he wants! But he is a public figure who seems to want to sell his product to people. So we can discuss and critique what he does. It doesn't mean we hate him or anything. But my gosh, some of the adoring and worshipping and defending is just pathetic.

Many of you are being simply ridiculous (the usual suspects). The tone of this entire message board has been shrouded in negativity for months now and this is the final straw for me. This will be my last post for a long while, not that I expect anyone to notice let alone care. But you've taken a place that once was about coming together for a common love of the Beatles, Paul McCartney and the music and have turned it into something unrecognizable - all because you don't agree with his tour stops, his setlists, and his decisions to play gigs like this. Peace and love to all the "fans."
I'd rather you stay and challenge points that you find to be invalid. It's a discussion forum, and other points of view keep this place fun.

Well, imo, it's totally reasonable. Many of the attendees are criminals that got away with shit because of their money. Should I excuse Paul for entertaining them? They're not worthy of his presence.

I don't get the invective on this one. So he played a gig for a bunch of rich people in NY, who cares. Is it because they were rich that it is bothering people. I'm may not be incredibly well off (i've always bought the least expensive ticket to his concert I could afford) - but that doesn't mean I hold it against someone else for buying a more expensive ticket because they can afford to. Or that I hold anything against McCartney for tiering ticket prices - that is standard business practice and he and his entire crew have a right to make money. I think there is alot of misplaced anger at those who are rich. As long as they obtained their money in an ethical manner I could care less that they are rich. This is not the first time McCartney has played a private affair and won't be the last. Easy gig for him - probably staying on LI, flew into the city, played the gig, goes home. I just don't get it. He's played alot of shows for fans. RamblinRed
