I see Ringo has added a remote hi-hat to his kit. Perhaps this allows him to play open-handed a bit more? With regard to being left-handed, and playing a right-handed kit, he spoke about this to Max Weinberg in "The Big Beat". I recommend it for all those interested in being a songwriter's drummer and not a drummers' drummer. I remember some of the old-timers telling me that the "Ringo beat" on the hi-hat was called a "swish beat" long before the British Invasion. I also love this comment of his: "I'm sort of a caveman...I believe drums should be made of wood and have skins on them." I was going to say this, but I'll let Ringo say it for himself, y'know like:

Cool on how Ringo being left handed greatly influenced his creativity. Really neat stuff, indeed!
