Paul performed a surprise concert today for an audience of high school students in New York City. There was a Q&A and he performed 13 songs. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2013/10/09/paul-mccartney-party/2951859/ http://www.rock1065.com/articles/rock-news-104703/paul-mccartney-and-iheartradio-surprise-ny-11723642/?utm_source=Rock+106.5&utm_medium=twitter

"Other tunes performed: Blackbird, We Can Work It Out, Lady Madonna and Queenie Eye" though? Maybe confused with the other "new single"?

Kind of like 'salsa' and 'seltzer.' (Seinfeld reference)

Don't think he did Queenie Eye but really interested to see if they could tackle it live. Judging from the samples that have been put up I Can Bet would really kick ass live. Grooving.

Set list is correct "Queenie Eye" was not played. It was in the Tony Bennett Hall, he is founder of the school and was in the audience. The kids were great! Very enthusiastic. Great little show. Kids were picked to ask questions. No cameras were allowed, and was very strict! The whole event was filmed and we were told was streaming on Yahoo.com Only 30 radio winners, and kids and staff from school. Excellent time! Podgie (who was at the show) Monkey

Congrats on attending, Podgie! So was there a separate "master class" or was the performance and Q&A the extent of it?

Performance and Q&A was it. It was nice that the kids asked the questions. It was really a treat for them. The MC said that the kids were told there was going to be a special show, but not told who. He said that their parents will really be surprised. It was a small, intimate, hall. Very nice. The kids were great, very appreciative. Podgie (having a great time in NYC) Monkey

Well, it is an arts school, so I should think most of them would appreciate it. I read as they left the auditorium, they were "na-na-na-ing" as they walked through the halls!

That was a very neat thing. Hey Jude was the last song. After Paul left the stage, all the kids started "Na Na Naing" for quite a while. I am off the photo, was too far left. Podgie (almost always out of frame) Monkey 😄📷

Tune in Monday, October 14 at 6pm PT/9pm ET to see Paul McCartney's Frank Sinatra School of the Arts concert stream on Yahoo http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/live/paul-mccartney-surprises-queens-high-school-high-energy-041417369.html The fortunate pupils at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, New York, often enjoy performances by guest musicians as part of their curriculum. But these students didn't have any idea what kind of treat they were in for when they were summoned to the Tony Bennett Concert Hall the afternoon of Tuesday, October 8...until the school's principal announced that none other than Paul McCartney was going to perform a special show just for them. http://music.yahoo.com/news/mccartney-celebrates-anniversary-ny-high-school-211228218.html McCartney said, "Happy anniversary, Baby," to Nancy Shevell before going into his latest song, called "New." He said the song was inspired by his wife as the students turned to her and gushed.
