Hey Watch what ya say

Hey Watch what ya say When I was a younger girl Much more so than I am now I saw the world in a much different light. Eyes of youth seened out glowing Absorbing the things around me The kid who ribbed me Shot the verbal daggers into my heart Yet as a young girl in my dreams He always ranked as the ogre of them Taunted and teased in a not so nice way The bigger girls on the bus, much bigger Much Too big to take down Got rough with my sister Not big enough to assist her As a young girl I was not taught to fight like that Couldn't help wondering why they wer so cross Why were they making such a fuss like that They were mean tough girls Hence I looked up in fear I was afraid of getting in trouble My fancy laid in my own dreaming My courage remained inside keeping my hopes and my cares for safe keeping Forever for the open dreaming N ever for the under scheming Played the notes from school On my flute for class Practiced so I coould keep up. Found a private place to play Allowed my head to sing in tune I fluttered about the school Told of a not welcome advance Made towards my nature Quiet cries left unanswered Blinded eyes and narrowed hearts remained Held my tongue Wrote my stories into dreams on paper Reporting in imaginative capers To the justices of the the spirits of youthful expresions Taking my heart to a new dimension Walking in my life from youth to now I can see how The lessons of youth The words of harshness, linger on :Long after they leave the speakers mouth Like a dart to the heart One should be careful what you say For it could create a long rainy day For a listener within Flooding the heart with deepend sorrows. by Doris Ridge Mendlovitz
