If I asked
-
If I asked If I asked you for a kiss would you give me a hiss would you smile and pucker up or would you barf up If I asked for a smile Would you grin like a crocodile Would you be around after a while Or would you frown with a sigh If I asked for a laugh Would your friend have a calf Could you be kind To laugh with instead of at. If I asked for a friend Could you be that in the end would I be allowed to be counted on Or would I be just a someone to turn down If I asked to be included Could I join in the discussion Or do I simply sit and star out Only allowed to look and not be heard If I asked to fit in Would I have to meet a standard Or could I be me to Join in If I asked the almighty To shine the light and love On me and the ones I loved Would they know it and allow it I guess wondering what to ask is tough I wonder if I should ask is good I wonder if I could ask is advisable If I asked would I get an answer? was about to log off, when I saw this one. It reminded me for some reason if me sitting watching Elton John in concert tonight. His songs made me think of many people and places and things I have loved, and do love, and this 'should I ask,' reminds me of my thoughts.
Sure you should ask Doris, and that is such a lovely poem.

Happy Passover Doris Love this poem... I love all of your poems too!
Just remember, life is too short in the first place, and my Mom always said to me, if you don't ask, the answer will always be NO. Whatever you are thinking of asking, you should definitely do it!! My Dad always said, take the risk... Just Do It!
