If Paul decides to Tour in 2013
-
I'm sure many of us are anticipating when Paul will announce tour dates for this year, when it happens and depending on how many shows take place, Paul could easily play 2 different shows and alternate them each night with his vast catalogue of songs,of course rehearsals would need to happen (but that's their job!) . I've kept 6 'must play' in both sets and included 3 potential new album songs with 36 in total. something like this maybe; Set 1: Venus and Mars/Rock show Jet Letting go Coming Up New song Getting Better Fine Line Only mama knows Take it away New song Long and Winding Road 1985 Let em in Every night Two of us Here there and everywhere Eleanor Rigby Here comes the sun Ram on New song Band on the run Ob la di ob la da Birthday Back in the USSR Too many people/She came in through the bathroom window Good day sunshine Live and let die Let it be Hey Jude Encore 1: Beautiful Night Listen to what the man said No more lonely nights Encore 2: Yesterday Can't buy me love Lady Madonna Golden Slumbers etc.. Set 2: The World Tonight All my loving Got to get you into my life Let me roll it Flaming Pie New Song Another Day The Night Before I'll Get you We can work it out New song Maybe I'm amazed C Moon My Valentine Hope of Deliverance I'm looking through you Things we said today All things must pass Blackbird New song Band on the run Mrs Vandebilt Penny Lane Lovely Rita My Brave Face A Day in the life/GPAC Live and let die Let it be Hey Jude Encore 1: Juniors Farm Silly love songs Uncle Albert Encore 2: Yesterday Get Back I saw her standing there Golden Slumbers etc

Cool set lists. Some things I would change, but great songs none the less. After listening to MMT from the 2005 CD, I think that "Got To Get You Into My Life" would be a great *second* song following a Magical Mystery Tour opener.
-
If Paul decides he needs a new opening song that he's never done, what about the idea of Paul walking out in the black Beatle jacket, waving to the crowd, and launching into the concert with "Ah - one, two, three, four!!...'We'll she was just seventeen...' ".
-
As long as I hear I've just seen a face, got to get you in to my life and band on the run, I'm happy.
-
I prefer the opening of Setlist #2 -- and I really like Encore #1 of both sets.
-
I prefer Set #1
but I too, would do some serious flip-flopping and some minor song swaps.

Both of john81's lists have songs that would be welcomed surprises, for sure...but, overall, those lists are still too, too, too much of the same ol'-same ol'. No matter what, I will ALWAYS pay good money to see Paul in concert, but after concluding 2012 on such a high note -- in 2013 -- the time is right for Paul to celebrate his solo catalog in some sort of way -- if not a full-scale tour, then at least one recorded performance that we can buy on DVD.

What you say makes perfect sense Audi but can't see Paul doing a show without including some Beatle tunes, they are the money spinners.

I saw a band once, who started the set with their big hit. Just to get it out of the way so the audience could focus on the show and not when they were going to play that song. Maybe Paul should try the same..............

Surely, I'm not the only one hoping that Paul adds "Cut Me Some Slack" to his next setlist...
-
"I Saw Her Standing There" would be a great opening song!

It would be. Without a doubt. But "Drive My Car," "Magical Mystery Tour" and "Hello Goodbye" have exhausted the tried n' true Beatle-openers. It's time for Paul to find his balls again and go BOLD!

If he has a new record out and is touring, then open with new song from that record like he did in 1989. Like I have said on other threads, still think "That Was Me" would be fun opener.

I bow to you, yankeefan7.

As cool as it would be to see a solo song start the set, IMO I Saw Her Standing There is one of, if not THE greatest opening tracks to a rock and roll album ever! and the first song to the first album McCartney ever appeared on! You couldn't get a better opening than that!

If he begins the tour in Brazil this year and opens with that song, I'll lose my voice before the second song!
