Hi appletart2, thanks, I don't really agree with voting for art...like I really dislike 'The X factor' and 'Britain's got talent'......I did look at the entries and they were superb, a lot of people have put a lot of hard work into them and I think they all deserve something....but I'm not Paul McCartney! such contests like the X factor I find distasteful, and whilst make entertaining viewing for some I think it plays on peoples aspirations, and often makes fun of them which I find in bad taste. but I agree the Linda that won 3rd is very good...they are very talented.. Anyway, that was the pencil study for Nancy's portrait and here is the painting I've done... Kevin..

Hi appletart2, The only disappointment with the winning entries is I find them very overly sentimental... I thought Paul may have selected something more radical / challenging... Otherwise I agree that the pastel of Linda is very good... not sure about cottages and hearts.... everyone has their own opinion which makes art so great! Kevin.

How do you get your own photos on here?
-
Go to a photo sharing site like photobucket.com, download the photos off your computer and follow the directions for copying a photo from there to here. If I can do it, anybody can!

I was curious about his choice for 1st place. I guess he was relating to the guitar and the heart strings represented all you need is love. It looked like the artist might have a back ground in commercial art to me. It was very good and I guess only Paul saw something in it that struck a cord...no pun intended. I wonder if his upcoming marriage had any impact on his choice. Maybe not wanting to look like he living in the past. I think Paul is very sentimental. He still lives in the same homes he had before Linda and during Linda. He kept the home that he and Heather met or fell in love in ( she got it in the divorce) He names his kids after family. he got married on John birthday. There was lots of similarity in Heather and Linda and there is lots of similarity with his new one and Linda. To me he a very sentimental person which is understandable with the crazy fast pace world he lives in.. he always on the go and there something to be said about coming home to comfortable old shoes.

I really loved his choice for 1st place. It made the most sense to me. I saw a couple in an embrace in the strings and they were kissing, you can see a hint of a nose, in the top part of the heart. Paul painted several paintings of Linda and himself kissing, so that was the first thing I thought of when I saw that entry... the Paul paintings of him and Linda kissing.
Very nice entry!!

Speaking of similarities between Nancy and Linda, there are a lot! Both Jewish, live(d) in New York City, had breast cancer, went to college in Arizona, had a brother named Jon/John, and their sons have names based on the boys' grandmothers' names (James Louis for Louise and Arlen for Arlene)

Both Jewish, live(d) in New York City, had breast cancer, went to college in Arizona, had a brother named Jon/John, and their sons have names based on the boys' grandmothers' names (James Louis for Louise and Arlen for Arlene) Thanks appletart2 / everyone, I guess you would have thought people would have had enough of silly love songs.... to quote a song....but I think we are all sentimental on occasions, but I do like Paul when he does his experimantal more risky songs also! He's very versatile at writing, and it's great that he writes even very good classical scores... I did this drawing and then thought about making a poster out of it. Refers to John Lennon's famous anthem, and that song is still relevent today and I think always will be... It's a very inspirational song, and with the drawing I wanted to show that soldiers are not the only victims of war, but often sadly innocent people. You're right appletart2, it is a crazy fast paced world, and to me John Lennon's fantastic song 'Watching the Wheels' is a marvelous comment on taking time out from it.I'm sure Paul also loves time to himself and family which should be respected... Kevin.

Paul has a very talented son, called James, who has some great music out at the moment... and soon to be released on physical format..instead of previously download only 'Available Light' and 'Close at Hand'.... so good I'll buy them again...... also I've done this watercolour painting of James below, he looks so much like his dad! I also believe James is doing some small UK live shows in December , so well worth going to.... as well as Paul's shows of course! Maybe James could be a support act to Paul one day...that would be something. I'm sure both sets will be fantastic... Kevin.
