Thanks man, was one of those where you get the groove and the melody came. I'm happy cause I'm really getting the music to the sound of the song I have in my head, the studio is a whole different ball game, just being able to layer, I figure we're scratching the surface in that dept currently but, it still sounds big. That Lights of Lime was meant to have the offbeat fade in and out at choice times, instead the track I did just plays the whole time. So that ones a bit of a mess actually... but still nice to get the sound you have in your head

I've added tracks to a James Brown-sample that my good friend Ike Dyson posted at his YouTube Channel. A fairly "bare" track, so he allowed me to add bass guitar. In the process, I got inspired to add more. Here's Ike's track: JAMES BROWN Funky Beat (Clap Your Hands) IkeDyson remix
And here's that same track with my overdubs: IkeDyson71 & Audese Present! James Brown's Funky Beat (Clap Ya' Hanz-Huh!) 2012 Mix! Ike Dyson: sampling/sequencing Audese: bass/vocals/guitars/percussion There are several mini-homages to JB in this mix. I played guitar parts of "Sex Machine," "Hot Pants," "Soul Power." and "The Payback." My vocals are what JB sang in his 1978 track "A Man Understands." IkeyD's samples include "Funky Drummer," "I'm A Greedy Man" and the 1969 and '70 versions of "Give It Up Or Turnit A' Loose." -

You're a lot more familiar with the exact songs but I can hear all the parts! Still taking it all in, good stuff buddy!

Obviously the first one, or maybe not obviously I don't know, was done in a pro studio, and I Can See Them was done in a garage when it was 40 degrees. try not to let that factor into your decision.Hmmm, as to which one's better I couldn't say. They're both very nice. But I think "4th & Goal" has the edge commercially, not just because of the production, but also it's easier to understand what the song's about. Sorry to pick Mr. Robbery's ong over yours
). The lyrics and storytelling are more direct, although the title is a bit cryptic - why is it called "4th and goal"? Sounding very good, Mr Canary! -

KPU 40 degree Garage Studio (11/12 mixed) - on the demo I'm 100% sober, probably the best, most heartfelt performance too and arrangement that makes most sense (studio one basically) I added a different guitar in the 1st one which changes the feel of the song, rocks it out because thats what Canary Robbery does, we rock it out thats why, Paul if he wanted to could rock way more than he does. just add more guitar bits. btw just let me know if you want specific info on the various intoxication levels of the first two legitamate recordings because you might get a laugh, there was some definite partying going on. Family board.
Hmmm... difficult to say really. In many ways I do prefer the original demo, but I think that's mainly just because it's a purer sound and the vocals are distinct. The arrangement of the th pro studio version seems good, but I just don't like hearing the vocals get lost like that. I don't think it's just the mix (or lack of it) drowning them out. And yes, you can definitely tell you're a bit addled on that garage studio version!!

Straight from not owning a single track of theirs to the whole lot. Quite different to what I expected so far... I've been thinking about which "Painted Ladies" song I like best: your excellent recent version or ELO's song -
