Whispers of Nature

Whispers of Nature From the beginning seeds sprouted life Colors of green, reds, yellows and other various aspects of beauty. Some became flowers, others trees Still others produced natural food to feed the other life forms. The small plant beings gave food, air and some medicines All that the planet needed to sustain other creatures Giving a sense of well being to our world. One could breathe and see the beauty all around. Other creatures were also to inhabit this world. Some as small as bugs crawling about in the ground Others small creatures living in the tall trees Still more inhabiting caves, and other habitats Many varieties exist along side the two legged ones These two legged creatures became humans Yet along with the other creatures the initially coexisted Then the humans took charge Some cared for the world they were given Yet others began developing and depleting the natural stuff given Once the greed of the human world set in The rest of the creatures began disappearing Going green might seem unreasonable to the Two legged kind Yet it is the only way that existance may continue Without the anmials both great and small The balance of the beings is thrown off The plants feed the beings animals, humans, alike Without the vegetation, we starve Beauty becomes a big sidewalk over heating our feet as we walk. Grey skies choke us as well as the rest of the creatures in our world The waters surrounding, give nourishment Bring forth fluid to help the life flow and flourish Natural settings and homes to other creatures. With out that we do not have water Seems as though all life depends on one another With out the vegetation, and animal species Our world will stop existing as we know it. Humans forget we are also animals Lest we forget that we are here to care for the world Not deplete and destroy what is on it. If the greening can restore. Life could once more produce the beauty it started with. Greens, yellows, browns and other of natures colors Once again painting the landscape Nourishing the natural residents who inhabit them Would once again give us a wonderful world again. by doris mendlovitz

People need to hear the whispers. its an ironic title in a way cause nature is basically beginning to Yell it at us humans, the fact that our pollution has a damaging effect on the environment, and that all things rely on eachother in different ways. I think the message of your poem is beginning to get through to us.
Great job Doris!
