2014 UK Tour - Confirmation
-
https://gavelandgrand.com/lot/22537-meet-greet-at-the-sir-paul-mccartney-out-there-tour Not sure if the 2014 UK tour is news, but at least there is now confirmation that there will be one. I guess there'll now just be speculation in the run up to dates being announced. Oh and bidding is still open on the meet and greet (disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the auction at all!)

Great news for the UK fans! By the way, are regular tickets usually available to foreigners? I mean, if I have the chance to travel to the UK, will I be able to buy tickets online?

yes they typically are when sold through Ticketmaster. You can do willcall to pick up at the venue box office the day of the gig.

Interesting! Will be good to know the dates.

Judging by previous tours, my guess is either March/April or June.

I'd like to know when the onsale dates are and I'm sure everyone else and their dog does too, but I'd like enough notice so I can be prepared for ticketbastard
I hate short notice with onsale times.

I wonder how many cities in the UK will get shows this time.

But that's how Paul does things now! And the presales sometimes happen only a day or two after the gig date is made official.

I think they're running this because they assume there will be one as Paul mentioned it in interviews. I personally do not consider this official confirmation that there will be a UK tour yet. Fingers super duper crossed though. Hurry up and tell us, Paul.
-
If I learned anything from the Las Cruces debacle, it is to wait until McCartney makes an official announcement on his site.
-
If this is to happen next year, prefer to be Arena shows like at the O2 or Earls Court

On the auction it says it has been donated by Paul McCartney so i am guessing it is official that it will be 2014

I believe the UK tour will happen next year, as it would be too great of a risk legal-wise to come up with such an expensive auction (which will attract many people) without Paul's acceptance to those terms.

The Auction has magically disappeared from the list of Lots on Gavel&Grand ~ it's supposed to be tomorrow
Anyone know what's happening please?

Interesting - perhaps MTV Staying Alive Foundation jumped the gun by offering that prize before a tour has been officially announced? Their auction is still there but the Macca prize is no longer listed. Is there an email address to contact the Foundation, someone can write and ask them...

Yes, I think you're right
I did e-mail them, but no reply as yet. I feel sorry for the 10 bidders.

I don't know about what Las Cruces was, but when a venue has tour information, for example, but there is no mention on an official website, it's a gamble. I feel bad for fans of any musician who spend money without confirmed dates but even confirmed dates can fall through.

Good grief my heart leaped....only to click on link and nothing. OK, can someone fill me on? An auction for Macca meet and great UK tour? How do you know is was for real? Well.......on edge for UK tour dates!!!!!

I'm probably a bit behind on this, but does anyone know how you get good seats (ie. within 10 rows of the stage) at Paul concerts these days? I appreciate you probably have to pay through the nose, but I accept that. I just don't know how to do it! How do presales work? Who exactly gets access to presales? And how on earth do you get access to soundcheck shows?? Help please!

Calm down. The auction was probably pulled because there are no UK 'tour' confirmations yet. I wouldn't get too excited until it's officially announced on this site. They probably just jumped the gun because Paul has a habit of throwing ideas out there like "I'd like to play the UK soon" or "I'd like to play Australia soon". That's never a confirmation. Sometimes it comes to nothing. If they somehow got the confirmation directly from Paul then why has it disappeared? I just have really low expectations nowadays because I don't want to risk being disappointed again like last year.
