How do you write Music? do you go out of your comfort zone?
-
how do you Writers come up with your Lyrics and songs? I step into the Lyrics. is the best way I can say it. No Forumla. you just have to go with the Flow that comes to you. at certin times. it just shows up, when you are ready for it to be created! it comes to you, just Like Paul says it does! I just stepinto it. do you think Paul steps into his creativity too? to me it is amazing how it all comes to you, in the most Unusual manner. but then I am an amazing Woman! unconventional, and going into the Uknown Woman, stepping out of my comfort zone! to step back in, and be comforted knowing you created goodness.

it's simple,i dont write music

oh. well I have always thought, that going out of your comfort zone, means your ready for new adventures, and new Creativity. it is really" A journey, that is into the "Uknown". it is not a safe zone to be in. but when I am thru, going out of my safety zone. I see that I have Created a New "WONDERMENT" FOR THOSE WHO THINK LIKE I DO. most could not do it. for it is a walk into "the VOID" trusting the Planet to take you to your creative zone! it can be lonely tho. for not many understand or would do what I do. they stay in their safety zone. and that is ok for them. not for me tho. this is exactly how it is done for me. to write, sing play and compose, it all turns into"PROS"! wish I could compose my own with, YOU KNOW WHO"! JUST FOR THE PURE FUN OF IT ALL. NOTHING GIVES ME MORE PLEASURE THAN TOO SEE, THE AUDIANCE EYES LIGHT UP! AND MONEY CAN'T BUY THAT COMFORT. IT IS ENDEARING, HOPFUL AND INCRESES MY FAITH, HOPE AND JOY. HOW ABOUT YOU? ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU? let me know ok??

Yes, my "comfort zone" would be a useless place to write a song. I'm never going to write one sat here in front of the computer, that's for sure. That doesn't mean you have to put yourself in extreme peril or anything though! Any kind of unfamiliar surroundings or break from the usual routine help get things going. When I went on a week's holiday in a remote cottage back in the summer I managed to get about 5 songs written. I started the first one by using George Harrison's technique he used for writing "While My Guitar...", picking up an old book and choosing a random line in it as a starting point. The result was my song, Flaunted Vice. Here's the demo:

I'm not afraid to say I come up with some brilliant songs sometimes-but I never get to writting them down and I lose them. I only get about 25% of the songs I think of, down on paper

I sometimes just whistle a tune into the sound recorder app on my mobile phone to avoid losing a tune. Words are more of a problem though. They come thick and fast sometimes and you do need to record them somehow.

Carry one of those little handheld memo recorders around with you... they are great... they record up to an hour...

Ok, how do I stay fresh every time I approach the keyboard... well this is some sentances regarding that; I Wrote a books worth of writings when at first. I hid them in my heart and I knew if someone would get their paws on my originals. What I did. I stupedly took all my writings and at one point I had to burn it all. Oh my heart aches for what it owns. It was a forshaddowing of gitting rid of everything that was precious in this world, materially. I had the most beautiful vase of dried flowers that I burned. The was when I realized I was going totaly the wrong way. I chose to stay with my kids and had to deal with evil. Well I get a good first line and it goes from there. The point of the above story is I lost trust in losing my writing, but luckely I had read and reread them so much that I had them completely memorized. I'm sure I lost a few good ones when I came to the internet, but not as much as how many I had lost ddue to computer errors. I get everything around me organized, kine, and come to the computer and write if I feel like it. I will never "try" to write. I will flow, and if it doesn't flow, it doesn't go. Well how I write specifically, I never really consideried it. But Paul McCartney in the dvd with jenny wren, described how he wrote, and that is exacly what I do. Manytimes I wrte then I have to look up even if it's a word. Many time they are very pertinent to each respective poem. I wrote about 1000 -2000 poems all together, but o those poems I lost due to a pory breake going off and losing electricity. Well Thats kind of how I write, you know, it just flows and never have I come back to aa poem and try to edit it. Now things I rememeber from writing the thing, I'll go back and make whatever corrections, but it's a capital letter to a period.

not sure, not sure I understand the whole concept of an artists 'confort zone'. if an artist is producing art, I tend to like them to do what they do best. challenging themselves is great too, and totally necessary. its just a fine line. I like artists to do what they do best. Like I don't want Paul making classical music on the whole, I want him writting pop hits. I personally wouldn't mind if he never painted again. as far as how I actually write music, it mostly starts with me finding some sort of groove on the guitar, a chord sequence or something, that then kicks off a melody in my head, where I can then fill it in with whatever topic I'm thinking about. every now and then I'll think of the melody, and then need to go pick it out on the guitar, but usually its playing the guitar and making noise that begins the songwriting process. poetry is totally different. thats just chucking a bunch of words at a page, no sweat.
I'm really into poetry right now. for some reason. I'm basically writing lyrical ideas for yet to be written songs. you need to use your lyric writing muscles every once and a while or you get weak and slow. and noone likes a weak or slow lyricist
much less weak AND slow. can't have it.

totally with you maccalindandma, I'm all for having a happy Paul walking around London (or whereever he is).. but I'm just saying, when I think of what I personally want most to see out of Paul in terms of art, its going to be rock n roll
I mean if the guy were to suddenly divert attention permanently to the ballet, I'd be like 'what a waste'. quite honestly that was John's big mistake in his music career, doing way to much eccentric weird music. just give me your rock/pop and I'll be happier. but I have very high respect for john's art.. and as it stands right now I'm still good to check out Paul's Ocean Kingdom.

When it came for George W. Bush to campagn for four more years, I said, just for his protection of U.S. he desearved the second term. I say this for this reason. Let Paul be Paul and pray for his happiness in every endevor that he will encounter. He Already gave it all to us. How much more can one man be expected to excel every time. We live in the ebbs and flows of destiny and what is preordained. I Think if Paul decides he may write an album, thats all gravy baby. One more great cd would be great, especially where he went on Memory Almost Full. It was already heart wrenching. Do we want him to explore his music further, perhaps he will. He's still rockin out. I bet he has an album after all this, and getting married. Yes I pray for Paul to enjoy happiness and be left alone. No pressure. Time is on our side.
