I am looking to start a Wings/McCartney solo tribute band in NYC area with the intention of eventually playing casino's, fairs/festivals, weddings, and private engagements. I am a very pro drummer and also a full time booking agent for going on 20 years. My office is in NYC but I live in Westchester. I am obviously looking for all the pieces of the puzzle. Most importantly, obviously, is "Paul". Preferably, I am looking for people who have the following: - are already a fan of the band and know the music - who can practice either in NYC or Westchester once a week. Weeknights at 7 or 8pm for two hours. - who are complete pro's on their instruments and can handle the nuances of the songs - who think "RAM" is better than any Beatles record (kidding, but it is..) People with full time jobs are preferred. If you are getting on in years (I am 42) and don't play as much; kids, mortgage, etc, this is where I am at. I want to generate additional income for myself and have fun doing it. There are two Wings Tribute bands that I can tell. One in LA who do the whole "look exactly the same and wear the outfits that Wings wore in 'Rockshow', and another from Seattle who don't have a 'Linda' and don't look like Wings and just play the songs. They both gig plenty at casino's and such. I am not opposed to the whole "looking the part" concept, but honestly it's a bit hokey to me. I understand it's "showbiz", but I'd be happy if the band looked like themselves and played the songs perfectly. Anyway, lets do this. Where are you, "Paul"? jbongiorno@gmail.com

Add to the list: Preferably plays left-handed (I know you don't necessarily need to have look-alikes, but it's nice.) I just saw Band On The Run in Cancun at a Beatles 50th Anniversary special and Peter (who plays Paul) told me he learned to play bass left handed (and he uses the same type Hofner as Paul) The rest of the band didn't look like them at all, but they sounded fantastic and were very versatile, e.g. Chris playing both guitar, bass & keyboards and Peter plays bass & keyboards. The even had one member (Jeff) playing sax, flute, tambourine and percussion. They were great! I know the L.A. band you spoke of. The Paul is the Paul in The Fab Four (the best Beatles lookalike/soundalike band in the world imho)

Good luck with this, I would love to see you play when you get this off the ground (no pun intended). I sing, play the guitar and the piano but I've not played in a band in a long time so this probably isn't for me. I am British and live in midtown manhattan though!
