Rahil Babooram - singer/songwriter/musician

Hi everyone, how's everything? (i hope that this section of the forum allows this sort of post) I'm Rahil Babooram ? a singer/ songwriter/musician living in Trinidad, Caribbean (Canadian by birth). I'm a one-man band for my recordings [vocals, guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, percussion, etc.], but when I perform live I either play alone or get together a backing band (an example being ?Rahil Babooram with Come Together? of which I had various live lineups of since 2003, and former incarnations under the name ?Gaura-Vani? leading back to 199. I have been singing and composing my own songs and recording them since I was 10 but only seriously from age 17 (1996/7) when I recorded my first album?s demo [?Gaura-Vani?] which was re-recorded in studio in January 1999. I'm currently finishing up recording my 4th album entitled 'Cuatro' in studio. main site: http://reverbnation.com/rahilbabooram youtube channel: http://youtube.com/simplyrahil Discography of my albums so far: "Gaura-Vani" (demo recorded in 1997 - studio in 1999) "Simply Rahil" (2006) "Orange" (2006) "Cuatro" (2013) 5th album (name to be decided on yet) (2008 - being composed) -------------------- My influences musically & artistically are: The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Sir George Martin) Pink Floyd (Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Rick Wright, Nick Mason) Electric Light Orchestra/ELO (Jeff Lynne, Kelly Groucutt, Richard Tandy, Bev Bevan, Mik Kaminski, Hugh McDowell, Melvyn Gale) Billy Joel Travelling Wilburys (Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan) Elvis Presley, Paul Simon, Bee Gees, The Carpenters, Barry Manilow, America, Supertramp, Starbuck, ABBA, The Eagles, Phil Collins, Little River Band, Sir Elton John, Nirvana, Sepultura, And mainly 1960s through 1980s music. (I became a vegetarian in 1993 and vegan in 2003 ? I wasn?t aware of the horrors of the dairy industry until then) ------- thank you for checking out what i do and i hope you enjoy https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/223907_450970111614585_363573052_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/253555_456004717777791_459243435_n.jpg

Love Even If! You should crush on guitars more, just like triple track distorted guitars and broaden out that bass sound Iike the jam though, nice feel guitar solo, nice cold ending. I'd bring the vocal down in the mix slightly, but maybe not only if you put tons of noise and guitars like I'm saying thats a well written song though my friend Just the music you make, you're a talented musician bro. Its a vision, thats what I like about it. funny line btw in Destiny - 'lets make romantic history' that song does sound a little like George Harrison.

hey kapoo thank you very much for checking out all you did thanks for the feedback and the compliments as for the technical feedback about 'even if', yes once recorded officially in studio, it would have a fuller sound, etc. (my actual 4 albums recordings' sound would be present then when those songs which are only demos now get recorded in studio eventually). the demos are just done here in my room on my computer with just my pc mic, open air, etc. so yes, far from studio-quality and all that thank you for the George comparison with 'Destiny' once the 4th album is released officially, i will announce, but what did you think of the 4 album promos (studio-recorded)? --- btw, here's my cover of 'bluebird'
thanks again for enjoying -

what did you think of the 4 album promos (studio-recorded)?
Wow, you nailed Blue Bird, your sound is tailor made for that rhythm section sound. nice sound on he drums and purcussion also, and great harmonies. the main thing is you got the 'sound' so right its sort of uncanny. you produced it soundwise just like Paul! IMO. so where do I find these 4 album promo tracks? am I just not recognizing them by name on Reverb?

Who's #1? provide a link to their music, I'll tell you if you're deserving of that #1 spot congrats on the #2 ranking though. Dude, on Reverbnation I've been #1 all over the world. real small towns in Russia, remote islands, my band rules in places like that. we're ranked 80-ish and falling down the charts here in my hometown of Chicago currently. but we still kill it.

Reverbnation has recently updated its ranking method -- which was lonnnnnng over-due. There were folks in the Top Ten who had no business being there -- zero Reverbnation activity and no apparent 'widget" activity. It was frustrating. Anyway, now that they've fixed their system, Sur Rod fell from 18 and has been teetering between 26 and 27 for the past week or so -- which is still impressive, considering that we don't play out and don't have thousands of Facebook "likes"...yet. There was a band that had been higher than Sur Rod for months, and now they've suddenly dropped to the 100s! So, it looks like simplyrahil's #2 ranking is an honest ranking, which is a good thing.
