Chrissie - HELLO there!!!! I'd just do it if I were you. We've been waiting ten years for Macca, and it'll be great if he does happen to make it one day, but with the news of the two promoters bailing on discussions, and ten years of rumours but no cigar, I figured I'd go and rock with the willing Beatle!! I'm actually planning on going round back to try and shake his hand after the show. Going to be amazing stuff either way getting to witness the man who invented rock n roll drumming to a large extent!

I understand the disappointment about the cancelled Australia gigs ten years ago, but I don't get why Ringo is praised to the heavens at Paul's expensive like this. Paul HAS toured Australia twice in the past while Ringo ignored the country for almost 50 years and is just now doing his first solo tour there.

Fair point. I guess the reason he cops it is due to the questionable way that last time was handled. It was always officially "postponed" too by the way. I think nowadays though there has been enough time and that if he WERE to bite the bullet and finally tour here again, people would very quickly forget about 2002. I know I sure would.

We have been waiting near 20 years for Paul's return. I just can't see why not. If done right Paul could take the nation by storm, appear on the TV shows, play shows in each city, holiday around our beautiful country, hold a joey, sing an ode to a koala bear, and also do a tour of neighbouring New Zealand too. This can be done within a month and be absolutely huge. But before this can happen the promotion of his new material needs to be alot better than has been the case recently, I mean plently of big names with low promotion and no airplay come and sell out venues, no problems. I am one of those people who do not buy the reason for the cancelled 2002 gigs, which were only in one or two cities only by the way, as out of respect for victims of the Bali bombings. I mean if it was the states he'd be the first one to play to lift the spirits and organise benefits etc... We still love you Paul

Press!!! That's It!! Right There!!! Yeah!!! Should have been a #1 hit!!!

Rumor has it that he's going on a gigantic tour this year. Maybe this will finally be Aussie's year.

Australia / NZ are well overdue, but don't forget he hasn't visited Japan since the Driving Tour 2002! That's a huge market. I believe when he visits Japan, he'll visit Australia and New Zealand. I hope it will be this year. I've always believed our chance rests with a return to Japan. Incidentally, I seem to be the only Aussie who firmly believes he'll tour here! I'll never give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul HAS toured Australia twice in the past while Ringo ignored the country for almost 50 years and is just now doing his first solo tour there. It's only in the past couple of years that Ringo has genuinely made an effort to tour outside North America while Paul has been doing it since the early 70's. He's played London every Christmas for the past three years but now he's a bad guy for not playing locally this Christmas too? Sorry, but it sounds a bit dramatic to me.

I don't think you do understand the cancelled gig here. Every major act on the planet has come to Australia at some point in the last ten years yet Paul somehow can't or won't. Yes there are many other places deserving of a show but he CANCELLED here, gave some crap excuse and hasn't made good on a return when his press release said he would. All lies and balderdash I say!

Wouldn't it be something if Paul and Ringo were on a double bill for a tour of Australia, as both are likely not expected to return given their age and past history of touring away from the big markets. Imagine that - Ringo Opens, Paul plays bass for Ringo, Ringo Plays drums for Paul''s set then a few songs together as encore. As my fellow countryman Michael Caton famously said "tell him he's dreamin'

Ringo graces our shores early 2013, Yoko late 2013, and I'm thinking to myself...stranger things have happened. What chance Paul performs here sometime in between? THAT would make a GREAT year...

Nice post Chrissie. If it was the Paul of old reading this, he'd be moved by it. Sadly now, his touring is only about the big bucks now. Money? He can't get enough of it...

I tried to wait for him last night Chrissie, but he apparently "ducked out" the loading dock (not the stage door like most folks would) before the last song had even finished, which maybe suggests he isn't so huge on doing it anymore? While I don't want to give away the setlist just incase, they did an extremely well known song, followed by another one, and joined it with a section of one of his former bandmates songs, then a jam on the end of that while Ringo left the stage, and from what I heard, the car would've been waiting for him then, while the band jammed a few more minutes and closed the night. Tempted to go back tonight knowing his tricks and where he'll exit, but I need to get up at 4.00am for work Monday
