Take a walk around a slaughterhouse. That would make a vegetarian of anyone. Don't jump full into fully vegetarian menus as quite often it takes your palate a while to acquire a taste - start out small with veggie burgers, nut cutlets and beans soups. They're generally delicious and you can work your way on from there. Never let anyone tell you that cauliflower curry is appetising - it's not. There are as many rancid vegentarian dishes as there are rancid meats.

thanks for the advice Squid

Hey Paulmusic... what kind of food do you like the most? I like Mexican, so if you like that you can start with things like bean burritos or I get these really yummy rice burritos that taste so good! I have a really good enchilada recipe with corn tortillas stuffed with soy chicken and mozzarella, then topped with a salsa and drizzled with sour cream... If you like Italian, then there are some excellent veggie lasagnas on the market. Italian sausages with peppers and onions, there are some great veggie meatballs or I like to substitute tortellini's too. Omelett's are good or quiche too, with cheese and veggies! One of my favorite salads tips I like, is to throw in some fresh basil leaves in the salad and lots of goodies, sunflower seeds, cran-raisins, slice some apples, cheese, broccoli, grape tomatoes cheese, sprouts and for a salad dressing balsamic vinegar or apple cider vinegar made into a dressing Soups are great too!! Broccoli, or lentil, vegetable. Try to go meat free for a day and then you can build up, every other day... Linda McCartney has a great cookbook(s)

Good Luck... there are many good alternatives to meat. Do you cook at all? If you use frozen meals, I can give you some some good ones to look for in the US... that are low in calories and really yummy.... but cooking fresh food is really the best!! I think I was meaning to mention spaghetti above, when I was talking about meatballs. Sometimes it is easier to try and substitute veggie alternatives to food you are used to eating first.... then later you can add some new things that might be different than you are used to... like falafel and hummus and there's alot of things really. Oh I forgot to mention that alot of Chinese and Indian food is vegetarian and really tasty too!!
I like talking to you too !!! cyal8r

Hi Little Fan... all you need for suggestions, is to go in this link Cosmically Conscious and there is a great link for some really yummy vegetarian food... or get one of Linda McCartney's cookbooks. I really love Linda's cookbooks!! They're great!!
And she will show you and your friends how to switch from meat to meatless, it's really pretty easy.
