Invalid Sessions We have a few members that are experiencing Invalid sessions or login problems. It seems to affect mainly AOL users although it can happen to others. The following suggestions may help. Minimise your current browser window and use Internet Explorer or another browser such as Mozilla or Netscape to login to the message board and continue browsing. Alternatively, clearing cookies, (your internet browser help pages should explain how to do this) can help. It's also worth checking the security settings on any Firewall program that may be installed as it could be set to block certain cookies. Also if you are running a web accelerator, (such as the Google Web Accelerator), try disabling it to see if the problem improves. Using BBCode If you are having problems changeing your fonts /colours or if your quote boxes are not working correctly, please go into your profile and check the Always allow BBCode: is set to yes. You will have to press submit at the bottom of the page to update any changes made to your profile. For how to use the BBcode please click here. Posting an Image The explanation of how to do this can be found by clicking on this link taken from the BBcode help pages. Please will users note that it isn't possible to submit any pictures directly from users own computers for signatures or in posts. They can only be linked from a remote site. Image Posting Problems Some users are often experiencing a red cross where their image should be either in posts or remote linked avatars. A possible reason that pictures may not show depends on where you are linking them from. If you are using a picture hosting site, check your daily usage limits from wherever you are linking from and make sure you haven't exceeded it. Also check the settings for the site your linking from. Some hosting sites have a private and public option. If you ware linking for the message board the settings need to be set so that the picture can be viewed publicly. If it is set to private, the piccy will show up as a red cross too. Also see the FAQ section on this board about posting images. If anyone reading this does post from a free picture host here are a few tips picked up from various free hosting sites that might help reduce your daily usage. The smaller you keep your images the more daily usage you will get. Try and avoid quoting pictures in replies to posts. If your picture is in a popular thread and is quoted many times it may again eat into your daily usage. Some sites recommend using optimized images if the image is posted to a popular message board with heavy traffic. For images for photos use jpeg, and use jpeg compression as much as possible when saving an image to be used on the board from a picture hosting site. Most photo editors will let you choose the amount of compression. Images can be compressed a fair bit before it alters the picture quality. If you are going to post a lot of images from your picture hosting site, it is better to post a link to the site. That way an image will only be viewed if a user chooses to click onto it and not every time they just view a thread. Some sites recommend that clearing your browsers temporary internet files can also help in cases of images not showing up. It is worth remembering when posting pictures from other sites to check that they have given permission to do so. If not you could be eating into that particular sites Bandwidth which may involve that site having to pay extra and this has been known to close some sites down or restrict their usage. Links and Clickable Links (see post below) IMPORTANT For All Other Board Problems To help improve the efficiency of this forum, by preventing the forum being filled up with the same problem repeated several times, before you post about a technical query, please check the [search facility](http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/faq.php]FAQ section[/url] and just have a quick check through on here and by using the [url=http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/search.php), to see whether your problem is one that has already been answered in a thread.

Clickable Links Some users have asked how to make a clickable link. The easiest way to explain is to show how it is written. For this the BBcode has been disabled in this post. Have the URL for the site you want to show or linking to a picture. e.g. http//www.exampleonly.com/image.jpg Then post the following around it using whatever name you wish to give the link. In this case I'll use 'click here'. click here If you post a picture and realise it's too big, the way to turn it into a link is to edit the post and remove the image tags. to read http//www.exampleonly.com/image.jpg It's also possible to turn an image into a clickable link. This is useful if you have a banner in your signature and wish to make it a clickable link. Using the following as an example, you need to type in your own details into your profile for signatures.

Quotes To make quotes, different font colours and sizes you need to make sure that in your profile you have Always allow BBCode selected as yes and then click on submit to update your profile. Please click here for further help on how to use BBCode For an example of how to chop off quotes in quotes ~ You're wanting to reply to the last post by user2 in this kind of scenario, but you don't want all the other quotes: Example 1 You go to click on quote and you see all of this in your reply and wonder where to start: Example 2 To leave the last quote there, you need to drag the cursor over the bits to take out. This is done by placing the cursor at where you want the start point to be and then left click keeping the button pressed down and drag to the point you wish to stop at: Example 3 To remove everything highlighted, you can either delete using the delete button, backspace, or right click and select cut, so it's left like this: Example 4 Then you can type your answer, "OK Catch you later": Example 5 Which when submitted would show up as: Example 6

Spam Registrations This message board employs active registration monitoring to keep the message board free from spam posts and user information containing links to spam or other unacceptable content. As the volumes of such spammer registrations are at an all-time high, please note that Admin will reject, without further checks, any registration that does not use a coherent username. This does not need to be the user's proper name - any nicknames, pet names, contractions of real names etc are acceptable. Usernames based on Paul's work and songs are very popular - there is no intention to limit your imagination or creativity in this respect. If your chosen username is mistakenly rejected on these grounds, i.e is not activated within 72 hrs, please e-mail us at Admin on mccartneymail@yahoo.com and we will review the registration request. If you notice any member posting spam content - links to sales pages or unacceptable web-sites please send a private message to any of the Moderator or Board Admin team. Thank you.
