I personally wouldn't want to be one. I've seen some of the crap these poor mods have to deal with just to keep the board civil and readable.

If you want to be a moderator, I would say that you have to be quite bright, have a pleasant, helpful demeanour, have your feet on the ground, steer clear of arguments on the board and be a fairly regular poster. Once you have proved your character, the team may approach you if they need additional help or if somebody decides to step down. I've known them to advertise in the past, but it hasn't always worked that way. Tough job, though.
