Anyone know what time Paul hits the stage?

Does anyone know what time Paul and the band usually hit the stage? We're seeing him (for the first time) in Washington, DC on July 12th. Ticket says Showtime 8pm. I don't plan to be late (but I don't want to be tooooo early!). I heard that there was a major entry snafu at Nationals Park for Springsteen last year, and I don't want to miss a minute of the show if they haven't yet figured out how to get us onto the floor.

From what I have read, he goes on about 8:30pm. Read: ABOUT. There are no guarantees regarding time. For my part, I would do everything I could to be there by 8pm, since you never know what may come up and they decide it is best to start on time.

Usually about 8:40 for shows that say they start at 8. Get there by 8 and enjoy the DJ and pre-show films!

Unless you're crazy, I would get there by 7 pm! Then you have plenty of time to browse the merchandise, go to the john, and find your seat. The pre-show video starts sometime after 8 and then Paul strolls on at 8:30. You don't want to miss a second of it! My stupid cousin and her son made me a few minutes late in 1990 and I did get a t-shirt, but then missed the beginning of the video! I was so pissed! Never again!

Oh...I've heard about the pre-show film (singular) and thought it was just a brief retrospective with the house lights down and the band hitting the stage. Sounds like a bigger deal than that, and certianly part of the experience I don't want to miss! Thanks for the tip!

No, it's quite long actually. But go much earlier, the atmosphere is great.
