Since we seem to be in a bit of a lull with only Lolla and the PeTA gig on the horizon... Wondering how the "Fans on the Run" collectively are always in the first ten rows at every show they attend. Do Glover, Gannon, et.al. have connections beyond the Fan Club tickets? Do they simply pay the scalpers prices? They certainly sometimes get them by doing soundcheck, but Rick himself (on the "Things We Said Today" show) said that he only sometimes does that. Not complaining, genuinely curious....

We just get on Ticketmaster at exactly 10 am and go for the Hot Sound Package. I have had 4th row center in Memphis and 3rd row center in Atlanta. You can also just go for the Gold seats (no soundcheck) and get in rows 5-8. (Rick was at both of the soundchecks I attended) I had closer seats than he did at both shows! What is this "Fan Club" tickets you speak of?

Fair enough. You all have lots of money to spend! [100+ shows x $500 per show = you do the math ] Gold seats might as well be legalized scalping "Fan Club" tickets was a bad use of the term for Crowdsurge combined with memories of the good old days when the "Fun Club" provided close tickets at face...

You should know that Rick's 100+ shows go way back to the earlier tours when there were no soundcheck packages or VIP tickets, and included those days when the Fun Club offered tickets at face. BTW not all of those seats were close - I remember having one set of Fun Club tickets for a 1989 show that were about 35 rows back on the floor.

Also the price now for soundcheck pkg's are $1500.00-$2000.00 in the states.

Being conservative, it still gets to "You do the math" territory pretty quickly Not counting hotel and air fare, assume half the shows were in the "modern era", and half of those are soundcheck shows.... (1500 * 25) + (500 * 25) + (100 * 50+) + 20 [one "Wings Over America" show] More power to him!

Yep...it sure is! The only difference between these packages and the U.S. packages are that these do not contain "hospitality" experiences.

I don't think Rick has any kids, so he has probably spent less on Macca than raising a child to age 18. I've spent less than $3500 for all the times I've gone. (the 2 latest were soundchecks at $1500 each)

What? No, see at the bottom how few times I've seen Paul? Only the two times was a total of $3000. The rest added up to about $500. In 1976 it was less than $10! I saw George in 1974 for $7.50!

Fair enough. Sorry about that Nancy. 5 shows + 1 WoA show for $500 is definitely pretty good. I've spent well more than that myself I really do think everyone who can afford it should do the soundcheck package at least once. Even @ $1500 (although I agree, the Europeans do get a relative bargain), it is well worth the money. The biggest problem is you do one, and you want to repeat the experience. What annoys me is the "Gold Level". If they are going to price them at $500+, they should just make that face for those tickets...

Unless it's changed, Gold Level tickets (and the Silver ones) do include the merchandise, which is why I guess they justify charging more for those seats.

Wow, Rick must have a warehouse full of the swag! I suppose at concert prices a backpack, a water bottle, a "collectible laminate", a program and (if you are lucky) a pick might get close to $250... The only significant attraction of the gold package is close seating. Considering (much) better seats can be had through Crowdsurge or the Amex presales, I have no clue why someone would buy the silver level...

[100+ shows x + 20 [one "Wings Over America" show] More power to him!

Just for the sake of accuracy, the Wings ticket was $8.50 ......and they were all in the modern era.
