What pics are reasonable to post on the forum?

Hi Mods, hope you're all well, enjoying another beautiful Day In The Life! as they say
. So really I just wanted to post in this particular section cause I never had before!!! Check. but I'm noticing a lot of my pics, that it seems to me used to be allowed to be posted visually, are now being reduced to links. Is there a rule of thumb I can use, to determine whether or not a pic will be allowed, or if it will be made into a link? is it size, and if so how big can they be? I by far prefer the pic view post rather than a link to it. whether I'm reading someone elses or creating my own. Most pics I probably wouldn't even waste time on if I was going to just be posting a link. it looses a bit of vibe that way. anyway, no bigs, just would be useful info to have going forward.. cheers as always!

Hi, the following is from our forum guidelines:
Images in posts can be up to 300 x 300 pixels in size, and please no bigger than 100 KB for animated images. Anything bigger is asked to be posted as a link.

thanks Calico! I thought maybe your response would read something like this: "RULE OF THUMB: kapoo, stop posting random pics" -
And, you can't post animation of a joint that for sure. But,
would would do that?
