GOOGLE CHROME CAN'T ACCESS THE SITE, FIREFOX WILL?
-
I have had a few issues on accessing the new website over the last week or so on Google Chrome. I thought with TripletslovePaul's help we'd sorted it, but getting in has become impossible over the last couple of days. Firefox has got me in, but i would love to find out why Chrome is failing, it never has before these recent issues. Any help would be good.

Hi BOYCIE, I am so sorry to learn that you are still experiencing this issue. I very much wish I could help further, but unfortunately, at one point or another, many of us here have experienced issues in one form or another with accessing the main site and/or accessing the many features at the main site. Many of the issues that crop up from time to time do appear to be browser-specific. Hence, the reason so many of us here now have one, two, even three browsers downloaded in an effort to find a workaround any given issue. To the best of my knowledge, the main site remains in BETA phase. Martin had recently confirmed this as well. I take it that the technical team in charge of resolving these issues remains a bit overwhelmed, continuing to make their way through the magnitude of issues to be addressed. Unfortunately, we, the moderators and administrators here at the message board are not members of the technical team in charge of resolving these issues at the main site. The best advice that I may offer at this time is to continue changing browsers as needed, clear cookies (catch-all remedy at the moment), and write to the webmaster at the main site. Please include the issue requiring resolution, your username at the main site, and your e-mail address associated with your account at the main site. You may write to the webmaster at the main site here: webmaster@paulmccartney.com Please try your best to be patient, as once again, they do appear to be a bit overwhelmed with requests. If there is anything that we may do on this end, please do not hesitate to ask. We will do our best to help if at all possible. Anita

Thanks Anita i've contacted the webmaster, we'll see what happens now.

You're welcome, BOYCIE! If it is of any comfort to you, I am currently experiencing an issue as well and in queue along with you......

and let's not forget people using IE7. although yesterday I actually was able to post on a blog.

As Anita says we have most browsers on our PCs to test these issues out. I'm moving around the main site freely using Google Chrome myself. So it seems not only an issue between the browser software and the main site - but also an issue between your PC, the browser software and the main site. Which is why we recommend clearing cookies on your browser and deleting your recent web-history in case it is cached data on your PC interfering with the loading and navigation of the site. Perversely Anita's issue isn't showing on Google Chrome at the moment - now we have find out if that's due to the use of Google Chrome or possibly that the webmaster has looked at her issue...... Martin, as you know, my issue was universal with all browsers tested including Google Chrome. In addition to Google Chrome, I am happy to report that the issue I had experienced now appears to be resolved browsing with Firefox and IE as well. Many thanks to our brilliant webmaster - your time and effort is greatly appreciated!!!

After I read this yesterday, I was able to access the new site with Chrome.

Chrome can get on some pages, but not on most now. I can't get to the fans section. This has only occurred over the last week or so, very frustrating.

I can get to the fan sections using Chrome. Computers are so touchy.

I've only been able to log in sporadically with Safari browser... why so many problems?

I agree. I think it should work with whatever browser you have.

Seems Chrome is working again on the new site.

It always did work on my computer.

Strangely I haven't been able to access the main site with Firefox since the last adjustments. It still says "We are making adjustments, please check back soon." Works ok with IE. Anytime I try with FF and get that adjustment message, it doesn't bother me though because of the really beautiful photo of the man himself :@myself

Try clearing your Google Chrome cookies and cache as I explain in this thread here: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2573437#2573437 Martin

Thanks Martin, I cleared my cache in Firefox, which helped. I should have thought about this myself a bit earlier ops:

I've just been trying to call up Paul McCartney.com, on plain Google and have been getting repeatedly "OOPS! THIS LINK APPEARS TO BE BROKEN!" It even says that when I type in the search bar www.http:paulmaccartney.com. I only got in because I had a desktop shortcut to the index. Something going on?
-
This is the url at the head of the main site at the moment: http://www.paulmccartney.com/ This is the url at the index of maccaboard ( here): http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/index.php or http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/ - the link used directly from the main site. The main site has had a revamp which may have affected bookmarked links and continues to have proposed revisions in the near future: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85212 As far I we know none of these changes are affecting any particular browser and links should work on all such. I still get this: Oops! This link appears to be broken. Suggestions: ?Access a cached copy of www.paulmccartney.com/web/guest;jsessionid=92E0C722D40C02C681EF669CAF9C8AA4.lr1PR ?Go to www.paulmccartney.com ?Search on Google: Google Toolbar Help - Why am I seeing this page? 2012 Google - Google Home I still can only get here thru my old desktop shortcut, or clicking the "News & Blogs" under the main title "Paul McCartney/Live Kisses" [Forgive my ignorance, but when was "Live Kisses" added?]
