      Please limit your selections to: Top 40 Songs, or Album Cuts that were played frequently back then. Please, no "Stairway to Heaven" songs. "Tangerine" by The Zep is acceptable, as long as your local station hasn't played it lately. I just listened to "Roses and Rainbows" by Danny Hutton (1965).

        Heard "Getting Closer" by Wings once on the radio in 1979, and I remember that. Haven't heard it since.

          I remember hearing Elvis Costello/New Amsterdam once on KROQ in Los Angeles in 1979. The DJ skipped the title. I only knew one line of the lyrics, "The real double duchess". It took until 2009 when I could ask my mates on another forum about the lyric line before I found out what the name of the song was.

            The Warrior by Patty Smyth and Scandal. All over radio upon release back in 1984. After that, nothing except either VH1 (when they did play videos) or online.
