David Gilmour, guitarist extraordinaire for Pink Floyd, has announced his new album Rattle That Lock out Sept. 18th worldwide, and some tour dates for the U.S next year on his website... http://davidgilmour.com/index_rest_of_world.htm

I would LOVE to see and hear David Gilmour in concert. Just noticed he is only playing a few, select venues. I can dream...
-
I pre-ordered the album 'Rattle That Lock' CD/Blu-Ray Box Set for the Sept. 18th release. Also that same day I got EXTREMELY lucky to get four seats to the Chicago show via Ticketmaster after 45 minutes after they went on sale. Most of the seats within minutes of the 1pm EST were already sold out and on secondary markets selling for crazy mark up prices. April 8th can not come here quick enough.

I saw him in Glasgow on the 'On An Island' tour with Rick Wright on keyboards and a special appearance by David Crosby and Graham Nash which was a bonus. I was five rows from the front and it's an experience I won't forget.

It does seem to be a bit of an odd tour a few small venues when he could easily fill arenas without breaking sweat, the prices for tickets on the scalping sites are eye watering too..i just hope he does a proper tour next year though i wont hold my breath.

Like Kate Bush last year (who played a series of of dates at a relatively small venue), some artists put their music before money.........while others artists (without mentioning any names ) don't.

He's playing Maddison square gardens and thevhollywood bowl plus other large venues in America and Canada isn't he?

1. US Airways: Toronto Canada 2. United Center, Chicago Ill. 3. MSG, NYC 4. Hollywood Bowl Compared to his 2006 Theatre US Tour (same cities as above) he is now playing the arenas in the same towns; two nights at each city. He is not a tour horse like Roger Waters is but he at least is playing to 20k crowds rather than 4,000 seat theatres. -------------- This is it for him in the States in 2016. 8 dates in 4 cities for North America. You will sooner see Waters do another world tour of THE WALL before Gilmour does a full US tour.
-
Oh agreed its Gilmour doing what he wants to do but as you say on the American leg he's playing to plenty of people so I don't think it's down to art just him being him,lol and they say Waters was the odd one. Still I live in hope he'll do a proper tour next year after the USA dates as I saud

Only one can hope.

FYI, it's called the Air Canada Centre in Toronto not US Airways. I think he's playing two date in Toronto

Thanks. Makes sense. Yes he is playing two nights at each North American Venue.

David Gilmour RULES!!!! PINK FLOYD FOREVER!!!

After the two Hollywood Bowl shows, he added an extra date at the L.A. Forum on Mar. 27th. The buzz on the preview concert was pretty good..."David's preview show for the 'Rattle That Lock' tour at the Brighton Centre contained some surprises, some familiar old friends and all superlative quality from start to finish... The sensational band were equalled only by the creations of Production/Lighting Director Marc Brickman and Creative Director Aubrey Powell. Suffice to say that the screens, films and imaginative use of colour and staging made this a concert by which others should be judged..."

This is in all probabilty his last tour why oh why such small venues here in the UK? Doesnt make any sense whatsoever,i get he's not an arena hound like Waters but cmon lots and lots of people would love to have seen him one last time.
