Of course they are going to play up the music and not the crowd noise in the mix on the official DVD, the object is to sell Paul's music! They will only punch the crowd noise when it is pertinent to the visual. Try and find a copy of the PPV of Halifax, it's worth your time...flaws and all (sorry Paul, you did hit a couple of clunker notes as evidenced on the PPV).

My point is that for the "official" dvd and cd they fix the clunker notes of anyone in the band, including Paul.

4:50 This is what I was telling about...when Paul went to the edge of the stage and picked up the teddy bear...I was standing right there in front, I froze, what a dunce!! Never again will I ever be that close to PM!!

I do remember there were clunkers, the odd note, a couple of guitar playing problems, of course the Paperback re-start. He stumbled down the stairs once a bit and covered with a swagger walk. But as he said, it was live! I didn't care about clunkers, it was awesome, and there really weren't that many. It was a true live experience, with the ground shaking under me. Having said that, for a big DVD release like GENYC I agree with fixing clunkers. People are great with them live, but don't expect them them on a recording, despite the protests from people who say they want a live CD really live. No one does that, it would be crazy. I've got to see the PPV!

I remember there being a few sour notes in the first few songs... I'd have to watch the PPV again to be more specific... Didn't matter to me, it happens to everyone except the ones that lip sync on stage

As it has been pointed out before...the odd soar notes have been dubbed over and the PPV was not complete, just what was fit to make a more enjoyable show!

I thought from what I've heard that the PPV was complete and pretty much un-edited. If they edited, why would they leave the occasional sour note in? If I'd known before the concert what I know now I would have bought a cell phone to record my own souvenir, though it was nice to just relax and watch. And I would have kept track of the ticket stubbs, and found the merchandise tent. I didn't know there was one, I didn't see it, and neither did someone else who asked me about one. It seems it was on the opposite side from the food, which I needed to go to repeatedly. It would have been a pain anyway, to try to work through the crowd to get into a tent way over there. I'm not into buying $45 t-shirts, it feels wrong, but maybe a program or something though. I would have taken a blanket instead of a chair and gone up front instead of behind the chair line. Maybe I'll get to another concert one day and do it right now that I'm educated.

I have a DVD of the PPV show, and I think there's one song missing. I can't remember what song it is though. Maybe you can find an audience recording somewhere to compare?

Why in the universe would they cut that song out?!! For time to fit TV? That's the only thing I can think of. Isn't that a shame, we have to depend on fan tapings to see the concert properly again. I know I shouldn't complain, it didn't used to be possible to re-live a concert at all after you left, but with today's technology it's so possible we want to be able to. Besides, it's good for the artists, not just us. I wouldn't have been able to appreciate the rest of the bad, or the graphics if I hadn't been able to see things again (just Youtube clips so far). It would make a lot of sense to me that an official DVD souvenir of any concert be offered to fans. It wouldn't have to be a big production thing with extras and documentary stuff and history, just a souvenir. It could be called the "Souvenir Series" or something.

I know..when I went to my first concert, music videos hadn't been invented yet!! (The Beatles did that) I went to see the Supremes in 1965!

I went for the show and didn't have much money anyway...I had a small cup of salad for my breakfast and my one liter bottle of water and that's all for the entire day..as soon as we got into the stage area I ran to get a good spot up front and never left that spot til the end...I was standing the whole time too, my feet were like sausages(swollen) and I was sun burnt but I was happy I had read that there were no programs for Halifax in that the show was almost canceled, don't know if that is true but I'm so glad it wasn't!! I took my camera 'cause I wanted to take all kinds of pix as I was in a new country(I'd never been out of the US), take a look at my youtube slideshow I made while there. It's just below my signature. Was soooo good of Canada to have such perfect weather for my trip!!

I heard a rumour that the cancellation rumour was a rumour. I see why people faint at his concerts! Eeating is useful. I wrote earlier in here about the kind of food available. I'd love it if venues sold giant pic-nic boxes with nuts, dried fruit etc. since you can't take that stuff in, but you don't want to have to keep going back for greasy fries and other hot junk food. And some of us don't like fainting and missing the concert.

Lovely seeing you post again, please don't be a stranger! My adventure in Halifax was so much more than going to a show... and I think the "clunkers" were so few and out numbered the good stuff that it didn't matter at all! And as I said befor, I was really doing all this on a shoe string...I was almost skint or broke just from the cost of the flights, didn't have money for a lot of food or even bus fare..I had my camera and a ticket to the show and that's all I really needed...oh and my sleeping bag, which I almost lost on the flight from Montreal to Halifax...I found it just in time to catch my next flight out, but it was close ---- You must check out my youtube slide show...it was as much fun just walking around Halifax as the show...it was the adventure of a life time!!
