Weird Music Nooz

Time mag was talking about Katy Perry music, seems odd they regard her music as more "American" than Beyonce's or Madonna's... A new book about the history of "poor whites" in America calls Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Bill Clinton "white trash." Nobody should be called that, probably. Bradley Cooper plans "A Star is Born" movie reboot starring him and Lady Gaga. Might be fun.

Gifted singer Josh Groban will finally hit Broadway. Wonder if he still goes with "Two Broke Girls" star Kat Dennings. Johnny Depp on the road with that Hollywood Vampires band thingie, along with bandmates Alice Cooper, Brian May and who else? Cruel Amber Heard filed for divorce just two or three days after Depp's mother passed away. She accused Depp of physical abuse, which many don't believe based on her past record--am a feminist but dislike Heard. She's bound to have a low Q rating due to her antics. Not very popular. Loretta Lynn has a new album out at age 84, of hits like "The Pill" and "When You're Looking at Me You're Looking at Country" and also some new songs she wrote, and she's touring. She's tough. It struck me the other day that Gwen Stefani sounds like Madonna when she sings, and also copied the garish lurid makeup, white hair and ugly clothes of Madonna. Stefani would look beautiful with her natural dark hair, would love to see her with black hair

Just now read Harry Connick Jr. will have a new daytime t.v. talk show. I'd also read Drew Barrymore might have one. Not sure Harry C. has enough charisma to pull one off...Drew B. is sweet and gently funny, hers might do better for a while, at least. Sure love Drew's romantic comedy movies.

Andy Grammer "folk-pop" artist sings " Oh NoHoney I Won't"--had thought a black singer does this, and Andy's white...wonder if anybody else thought a black guy sang this. And what's "Folk-pop" anyway? What are more examples of this genre? Hailee Steinfeld, gorgeous fine young actress and good singer (album out soon) opening for Meghan Trainor on a big tour. Meghan's another singer who sounded black to me til' I found out. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake voices starring roles in upcoming new kids' "animated musical" called "Trolls" (probably about the ultra cute dolls and not online haters!) that's also gonna appeal to grown ups still in touch with their inner child, I bet--Anna's not looking like herself in new pic w/ Justin at Comic Con. Suddenly looks like a teen. Wonder if it's just that one pic. At least she didn't get the dreaded "trout pout" (!) Gwen Stefani's out on the road with hottie Blake Shelton on his big new tour. Hope they keep going strong. Fun couple

Rapper G-Eazy terrified about D. T., says Trump "will push the button right after he gets in the White House"--we hear ya. It's scary. Rihanna will play a role in the last season of "Bates Motel"--the Janet Leigh part. Wonder if she got the idea from Lady Gaga's turn in "American Horror Story" or whatever the name of that scary series. It's interesting the songbird branches out in unexpected directions.

Snoop Dog and Martha Stewart will co-host a t.v. cooking show Interesting pairing. Rihanna admonished fans not to look for those Pok?mon creatures while she was on stage in France giving a concert. Amusing remark. I bet she cheered them up after a string of terrorist attacks. Should not have said Harry Connick Jr. lacks the right degree of charisma to have his own telly talk show. Guess I was still miffed about "American Idol" cancellation. That show was so much fun to watch, and to live blog...I Keep thinking the show may be resurrected at some point in the future.

Seen on the Net: fancy silver luxury sports car with color pic of John Lennon embedded in the hood of the car
-
Amusing juxtaposition of Ozzy Osbourne and son Jack appearing on The History Channel with a new travel road show featuring historic sites. Classy channel for Ozzy, LOL Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson have a new duet out that's garnering rave reviews.
-
Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will be added to "The Voice" judge panel this season, joining the usual male line up of Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. That's an interesting female pairing, Miley and Alicia...you might anticipate Miley Cyrus will provide the wildest and loudest antics, will she be able to tone that down a tad for a big hit telly show (do you hope she doesn't?)? I wonder how many would-be music star aspirants will pick Miley.

Tay Tay Swift and Tom Hiddleston already dunzo--that's embarrassing, remember all those PDA sightings in a romantic whirlwind as if they were totally besotted, love at first sight and all that ! Seemed obvious to me the male partner in the love bug duo sought to raise his profile, used Tay Tay trying to nab an Oscar nom for "I Saw the Light" the Hank Williams story. He's rather a bland forgettable-type actor and needed desperate high jinks. They needed to jazz up that movie a lot, really was dull and dragged, in parts. It needed more music.

Unexpected new couple: Gwen Stefani Ex Gavin Rossdale and Tiger Woods Ex Elin Nordegren! My sis remarked she thinks Stefani must be jealous at this news

More wonderful than weird: a Glen Frey (of the Eagles) statue now stands on a corner in Winslow, Arizona A funny fantasy that made me laugh flashed in my head the other day, me holding down Gwen Stefani as she yelled and flailed around as I poured black hair dye on her platinum tresses (LOL), not that I ever really would. It's just that I KNOW she'd look so beautiful with her natural very dark hair. The dramatic heavy make up she sports would look more attractive with it, too. She'd look like a hot Mexican mamacita The number one song "Closer" doesn't sound so hot to me. Nor does the new Coldplay anthem with Beyonc?. Got a bit of that hurky jerky hip hop Nicki Minaji thing going, unless I heard wrong. I don't like hurky jerky

Kristen Stewart has hooked up with musician St. Vincent, her third girlfriend in a year...last I heard Cara Delevigne was St. Vincent's squeeze First I heard Kristen was dating her personal assistant, then that she had a French girlfriend, then that she was back with her personal assistant, and now People mag informed she's with St. Vinny. Kristen had really raved about her French girlfriend, seemed crazy about her. Fickle, I suppose. Kenny Chesney was going to perform in Myrtle Beach, S.C. That was before Hurricane Matthew inflicted its wrath. I had thought Chesney too big a star for a Myrtle Beach venue. Far as I know, he's still a big country star. Kenny has a new country ditty sung with Pink, about partying. Typical country music song theme. Tim McGraw's new hit cites things he loves about the South. Also typical. I've taken a fancy to his singing recently. Tim and Faith plan to play North Charleston, S.C. Keith Urban's new song "Blue Ain't Your Color" sounds a bit of alright.

Lady Gaga's new album reported to have "bombed" ! Hope that's not true.
-
Girl D.J. on a country music station: "He's gross!" About Donald Grump. Cool to hear, on there. Savanna Ga. born actress Diana Agron ("Glee") married a Mumford. Like Brit actress Cary Mulligan snagged one, maybe the main one, Marcus Mumford. Diana's Mumford probably likes it that she's from Savannah A "Vanity Fair" mag writer deemed Katy Perry and Maroon Five "not cool." That's an arbitrary assessment. Some might say their popularity and monetary success gained from loads of fans indicates they're at least somewhat cool, or that the former renders the latter appellation a moot point. Or not all that important. Or something.

Miley Cyrus is out campaigning for Hillary Clinton. Saw an instagram photo of Miley posed with Paul Mc. They were "desert tripppin' "Miley wrote.

Lady Gaga just finished a "Dive Bar Tour"--did she actually tour "dive bars"? Read Gaga wants Madonna to do a number with her at the Super Bowl. I didn't know Gaga is gonna headline the halftime show this year--"girl power" or "woman power" at a big Neanderthal sports show. Would be cool. Is she really slated to perform there? Heard a "Country Rap" song--sounded pretty awful, at first hearing. Country stations play male artists more than females Perhaps that should be the other way round. I now live in a rural area, guess that's seeped in some, makes me wanna listen to country more often than formerly. That genre is actually pretty "feel good" and upbeat, generally, except for the tears in my beer anthems. It's kind of sunny and happy

Seen in a trashy supermarket tabloid: Britney Spears may catch the bubonic plague from one of her favorite restaurants Katy Perry seen campaigning for Clinton in college dorms, attired in a tee shirt that reads "Nasty Woman." Hillary's opponent gallantly called her that in a televised debate, showing his misogyny to millions... Lady Gaga's new album "Joanne" seems intriguing, abandoning her robotic "electro-pop" for a variety of song stylings including country-tinged ballads, retro rock, pop, etc. according to a review. Makes you curious to hear it.
-
"Modern Rock" radio station aired a Valentine Day commercial and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! Then right after that, a Kurt Cobain song called "Rape Me" came on (real "feel good" song, right?) and it was a jolt to hear the D.J. say, "Rape me" First the romantic, almost mushy Valentine Day message followed by THAT. What a juxtaposition

(LOL) It's funny that Paul Mc. and Neil Young performed "Why Don't We Do It in The Road" together at the Desert Trip festival California series of concerts where the Stones, the Who, Dylan, etc. also appeared. That's real cool
