"Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be?" and "Pony Boy". Hymns. "Greensleeves" and "Shenandoah". A Peter Pan Record? A Yogi Bear Record? Or Bach and Beethoven? A bit of Broadway?

My folks would sing "Shine On Harvest Moon" in the car. My old man was a fair whistler too. My older Brother had a record of "Big Rock Candy Mountain" in clear red. He bought "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and "Wings of a Dove" in the early 60's. Ferlin Husky.

Songs that I grew up with in my childhood? I was 3 years old when The Beatles came to America and went on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was The Beatles since!!!!! As for movies, A Hard Days Night, Help and Yellow Submarine!!! Lets not forget "Over The Rainbow" by Judy Garland, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and the theme from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory just to name a few.

I started my Beatles collection at the age of 7 in 1964 with Meet The Beatles. My only other rock records for the next two years were some Beatles LPs and singles. Then in 1966 I got Last Train To Clarksville on 45 and the first Monkees album. Other favorite childhood records I remember having were the Soundtrack to Mary Poppins, the first two Chipmunks LP's, Military Marches of the Armed Forces, and The Sounds of the Mercury Spaceflights recorded by NASA. My parents on the other hand had a nice music collection and I also grew up listening to their records like Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Jim Reeves, soundtracks to South Pacific and Victory at Sea, Barbra Streisand, and Johnny Mathis. Ahh...the Sixties!

Wings Over America - Cow Palace SF - June 1976. New World Tour - Anaheim Stadium - 4/17/93. Driving USA - Oakland Arena - 4/1/2002. US Tour - HP Pavilion - San Jose - 11/08/05. An Evening with Paul McCartney - The Joint at Hard Rock - Las Vegas - 4/19/09. Up & Coming Tour - Hollywood Bowl - 3/31/10. Walk of Fame Star Presentation - Hollywood - Feb. 2012. CBS-TV taping - The Night That Changed America (with Ringo!)  - L.A. Convention Center - Jan. 2014. Out There Tour -Dodger Stadium - Los Angeles - Aug. '14 and Petco Park - San Diego - Sept. '14. Petco Park - San Diego - June 2019.  Got Back Tour - SoFi Stadium - Los Angeles - May 2022

The original Running Bear was in 1959 by Johnny Preston (Written by The Big Bopper!) This is the one I'm familiar with. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Running_Bear

Oh yeah. Herb Alpert and the TB and "Whipped Cream and other Delights". And I was 12. My Brother brought it home. And I listened to it religiously, and in the afternoons I spent many hours staring at the album cover, wishing I could develop X-Ray Vision for Dairy Products. But that was "the adult stuff".

Illinois. But when I was little, I wanted to be either Roy Rogers, fighting bandits, or Jesse James, robbing banks and stagecoaches. I was flexible in those matters.

Did you see the recent mini-series with Bill Paxton as Sam Houston? (Texas Rising) Really good! http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/23/arts/television/review-texas-rising-a-mini-series-on-alamo-aftermath-with-dialogue-to-forget.html?_r=0

Like yourself, I've seen them all!!! My Father, while in the Marine Corps, met the cast from the Alamo at the Alamo in downtown San Antonio, Texas. John Wayne, Linda Crystal, Richard Widmark and Frankie Avalon, just to name a few, were there to shake hands and sign autographs.
