Lady Gaga's new 2014 album with Tony Bennett will consist of "sensational" jazz duets, quite a departure and big change for her. Katy Perry plans a big change with her next album too, planning to copy early Joni Mitchell introspective singer/songwriter kind of folky style and use acoustic guitar--"copy" might not be the right term--"inspired by" early Joni Mitchell. Gaga's might turn out by far the best of the two. Just get that feelin'

Lady Gaga is bragging her tail off about "ArtPop" her upcoming new release (not the one with Tony Bennett)--it's unbecoming to boast. Off-putting. Good thing Macca hasn't come right out and bragged, even through all the promotions of "New" he hasn't. It's a turn off. Not a music star, but Robert Redford has been bragging too, about his new movie and performance. He's obviously trying to net an Oscar. I was surprised he's in a drama about being lost at sea, and the only character in the movie. Maybe he does deserve to score a nomination, at least. Katy Perry was on entertainment shows tonight singing part of an awful sounding dull introspective "sensitive" (not catchy pop) song about her depression over being left by the awful Russell Brand. She told the reporter, "I was lying on the bathroom floor, then looked in the mirror wondering if I could go on, but my sister helped me." Then she sang part of the song with those very same words in the lyrics, verbatim! Not very poetic. Perry didn't come right out and boast about her new album, though. It doesn't look good to do that. Glad Macca hasn't, though one time I suggested that he should...I was so wrong.

Katy Perry's bragging that Stevie Nicks is her "mentor." And she herself wants to be a mentor to up and coming new female singers. She mentioned Ariana Grande, in particular.

Saw "pop princess" Perry put on a free mini-concert at a huge Colorado high school--the kids won the make a music video for "Roar" (awful song, to my ears!) by filming a long continuous shot--the vid IS cute and impressive, the t.v. show showed it. Perry must have felt old as the hills (it was her birthday, she's 29) performing before all those screaming teens. I just know she's going to sound awful trying to sing Joni Mitchell type sensitive introspective singer songwriter songs. the songs will be awful. But maybe she might surprise me, but I sort of doubt it.

Lady Gaga is complaining because she "doesn't look like a model"--we're supposed to feel sorry for her? (LOL) She looks right cute without all the heavy makeup. Like she "stepped out of a classical painting," one fan wrote. Gaga stripped naked while performing at a gay nightclub--might have been wasted on most of its patrons (males), LOL. Why did she choose to parade around nude there?
